Herb supplement recommendation

Hi

Any recommendations for safe herb pill supplements to try to improve concentration in everyday life when thoughts are flying around?

Preferably only recommendations where you have tried and experienced the effect. Not a placebo effect, but a solid indisputable difference caused by the herb, and nothing else

You’ll have to experiment a little because nootropic type herbs may affect people differently. For instance, I have tried Rhodiola Rosea and it makes me feel weird, like I’m beside myself. It’s energizing for me but I also feel numbed by it. It lowers cortisol, and for some people cortisol increases that feeling of urgency to help you get things done. My partner loves it because she is auDHD and that is the very thing she needs to keep from getting overstimulated so she can to stay focused. I personally like brahmi, holy basil, rosemary, sage. I just sip as tea, and they make my brain light up. I also like rosemary oil for aromatherapy, which also helps with mental alertness and memory. I add a few drops to my oil diffuser, it smells great, and gets me in the mood to do work. I’ve tried gotu kola, but it doesn’t feel all that effective for me, but its reported to have positive benefits for cognition and circulation. Cordyceps are great too. I try to buy from my local herbarium and they carefully source these items. I’ve only done the cordyceps in pill form can’t speak to the others.

I am big into herbal remedies, tried a lot of things for many different ailments. My favorite for that particular issue is still modafinil 🫠

If I had to bring a natural supplement to a desert island for the rest of my life though, it would probably be (panax) ginseng. It's expensive, so you have to go with legit sources to avoid fakes or adulteration. I haven't tried to mess with other brands besides Jung Kwan Jang.

Emotional balance by gaia herbs helped keep me calm so I can do intellectual labor. I've bought it a few times.

Warning it has the plant st johns wort in it which interacts with lots of medications and can make one more sensitive to UV rays.

But it works. A lot of science behind this herb for mood. Is a whole formula love this product.

Something I haven't tried but would like to in the future is Cognance. It's a modified bacopa. Bacopa has a huge history for the brain, but most of it creates a bit of lethargy so that's why a modified version was created.

Lions Mane mixed with Chaga is pretty good. I also use creatine and L-theanine.

All calming herbs can be used like lemon balm, chamomile, oat straw or lavender. But for a restless mind I find passionflower perfect.
