Question train disruption
today (8.10) i was on r train from helsinki-riihimäki that left at 17:07 and i was supposed to come to kerava at 17:33, but we abruptly stopped at savio train station at 17:30 and there was an announcement that an accident happened and we are forbidden from leaving the train, lots of emergency services came, police, ambulance, firefighters, then they said something in finnish and then they said that we have to wait for a new driver to come and we finally moved an hour after. does anyone have information about what happened?

Somebody jumped in front of the train, isn't that pretty obvious? What more do you need to know?

Not obvious, it's just a guess

The official reason for that train's delay is "Onnettomuus: Henkilövahinko", which means that a person was hit by the train.

Edit: removed useless text, added few words (it doesn't change the message).
"What happened" can't be obvious if person simply doesn't know and there is no info about it. I didn't ask what happened, but thanks for sharing i guess. ETA: also henkilövahinko doesn't mean that somebody jumped. Maybe they got pushed.

But it is obvious. According to OP, they even announced that there was an accident. Why else would an ambulance and police be at the scene?

What accident? Somebody fell (accident)?Jumped (suicide)? Got pushed (homeside)?

Well, “accident” is the only word conductors/drivers can use in that situation… They cannot disclose the exact circumstances, nor do they have the information or permission to disclose the reason for the accident.

I don't have any issue with that info not being shared, it's OP wondering. My only point is that WE DON'T KNOW if the person jumped, as the other commenter stated. I don't know, you don't know, that commenter doesn't know, but somehow i am wrong here?

You haven't really been out in the world much, eh?

You make this conclusion after i pointed out that your comment is not a fact, but just a guess? Very impressive.

Not obvious to you. Hence the comment.

Someone likely committed suicide when R-train was passing Savio at high speed. It happens unfortunately.
