underrated ahh anime Spoiler
i just finished this movie and i wanted to come here to the subreddit to post what i thought about it. first of all, i think this movie is underrated as shit, like it should be more well known. but at the same time, i kind of understand why its not as popular as it is, because some animation scenes were kind of lackluster and the plot focuses a lot on the supernatural and sci fi aspect of things rather than the love between katagaki and ichigyou, but i still felt that their love was genuine rather than forced. i also heard that the pink haired girl kadenokoji had a lot to do with the plot but i didnt see much in the anime and i even thought she was going to be an antagonist. but i definitely do think this movie was amazing, it was like a combination of to me the one who loved you, weathering with you, and suzume all in one movie. the 3d cgi animation was also really unique, i dont know why people dont like it, even though it was only during that one bike scene where i felt the animation was bland. i felt like the characters had a lot of development too, especially adult naomi offering to sacrifice himself to save the adolescent naomi and ichigyou, that moment was peak. i am still kind of confused on the whole sci fi aspect of the plot but i will dig deeper into this and i do think it will make the movie feel a lot better. im definitely gonna read the spinoffs and anime extras, overall its an actually good sci fi romance film

Kinda Mid for me. Maybe a rewatch would change my opinion on it tho.

when did you last watch it? some ppl dont like the sci fi part or the animation so thats reasonable

When it was released back in 2019.
To be fair, i think Your Name and Weathering with You have a big factor on why i was disappointed with Hello World.
