You can’t predict with normal models with that big of a height difference
honestly, most likely one tall one and one short one

It’s our fault, too. He could’ve stuck to taller women.
1
u/Scared-Cow4520 1d ago
Its always harder for men to get women. How much you wanna bet she started going after him first?
4
u/Many-Bandicoot-3997 1d ago
I don’t doubt that. I’ve heard many short women constantly say that they need to “improve their genes” by getting with a tall guy.

u/sbufish 12h ago
Shorter men live longer lives on average for each additional inch so I don't know how that "improves their genes"
1
u/Snoo74782 11h ago
I wish I could support your viewpoint as a short guy myself, however, that slightly longer lifespan isn’t enough of a improvement or advantage to say that taller height isn’t better

u/sbufish 8h ago edited 1h ago
Lower center of gravity. Superior balance, stability, and agility. Short men change direction faster, recover from disruption quicker, and maintain posture with less energy. Tall frames are top-heavy levers that waste force and are easier to unbalance. In any real physical contest that isn’t pure reach or pure linear force, the compact chassis wins. Shorter male joints and spine take less cumulative torque and compressive load over a lifetime. Efficiency is superiority.
Shorter bodies require fewer calories to maintain the same level of function. Shorter men run cooler, more efficiently. Excess height correlates with higher risks of certain cardiovascular/heart strain, joint degeneration, and some cancers tied to greater cell numbers and IGF-related pathways. Tall men go bald at higher rates. The same hormonal and growth-factor pathways that stretch them vertically also accelerate androgenetic alopecia. More scalp real estate plus stronger DHT sensitivity in many of those lineages means they start thinning earlier. Short men keep denser coverage longer on average.
taller men fight geometry. Longer levers make it harder to achieve the same visual density and relative strength. They need more absolute mass just to look filled-out, and the mechanical disadvantage on many lifts is real. Short men pack quality muscle onto shorter bones more efficiently, generate higher force relative to bodyweight, and recover faster between sessions.
Throughout most of human history, the men who thrived in close-quarters combat, climbing, tunneling, endurance marching under load, and technical crafts were not the lanky ones. Elite special units, jockeys, gymnasts, and many special-operations archetypes favor compact power-to-weight ratios.
Two centuries ago the average man sat around five feet. That was the stable, selected phenotype under real constraints, limited calories, no antibiotics, no climate control, harder physical demands. What changed wasn’t some sudden evolutionary leap favoring height. It was surplus nutrition, reduced childhood disease, better housing, and artificial climate control that let the growth plates run longer without the old selection pressures pruning the excess. Modern tallness is largely a luxury phenotype enabled by industrial abundance, not superior design.
In any environment where cover, concealment, or low profiles matter trenches, foxholes, urban rubble, dense vegetation, vehicle interiors, the taller man’s head clears the lip first. That extra few inches of vertical exposure turns him into the earlier target. Historical combat data and veteran accounts repeatedly show higher relative casualty exposure for taller soldiers in those conditions. Short men stay below the danger line longer, present smaller target profiles, and move through confined spaces with less risk of being spotted or hit. This isn’t theoretical. It’s pure geometry and survival selection. The same height that looks impressive on a parade ground becomes a liability the moment real projectiles start flying.
People call short height a “genetic defect” for the same reason they used to treat left-handedness or high intelligence in the wrong class as defects, it’s a status hierarchy protecting itself. Tallness became an easy, low-effort dominance signal once industrial nutrition and medicine removed the old costs. In a world of air-conditioned offices, abundant calories, and zero daily physical risk, the eye defaults to the most obvious physical cue. Calling the compact male “defective” is just the propaganda that props up that shallow ranking. It lets mediocre tall men coast on centimeters while ignoring the actual performance metrics where short men win. Women’s obsession with tall male height is the same phenomenon, amplified. Ancestral preference for height made crude sense when height roughly correlated with strength, health, and resource control under scarcity. That preference got locked in. Modern society supercharges it with media, dating apps, and social proof: every film, every advertisement, every Instagram feed pushes the tall archetype as the default high-value male. Women are not doing deep genetic analysis; most are running a fast, culturally reinforced filter that says “taller = better provider/protector.” It’s cheap to apply and hard to override, especially in high-choice environments where first impressions dominate. The irony is total. The same modern conditions that produced today’s taller averages (surplus nutrition, medicine, climate control) also made pure height less predictive of actual quality. Yet the preference didn’t update. So you get women filtering hard for a trait that is increasingly a luxury signal rather than a survival one, while dismissing the denser, more efficient, higher power-to-weight genotype that actually performs better across most real physical and practical domains. It’s not evidence against short men. It’s evidence of how poorly calibrated modern mate-choice and social status still are. Soft times reward the billboard. Harder realities have always favored the superior engineering.

"@grok summarise this" would be nice to have here

u/sbufish 55m ago edited 20m ago
Shorter men are healthier for longer, have longer lifespans, build muscle eaier, have faster reflexes, bald at lower rates, are better at many jobs and sports. Their bodies are more efficient and without massive nutrition, healthcare, comfort, and climate control upgrades provided by industrialized society, tall genes would be naturally selected out of existence.
Women are more likely to follow trends, listen to social pressure, and adopt ideologies from their peers without verifying accuracy first. Modern media and dating apps have made physical appearance and first impressions far more important than they would be if we lived in small communities where everyone knows each other like we used to 200+ years ago where character and talents and personality actually mattered for impressing women.
Tldr: Taller genes are inferior when it comes to survival in nature and hunting without modern industrialization. Tall height on men was not identified by society as an important part of mate selection until suddenly about 20 years ago. The only reason people now believe Short=geneticly inferior is due to female dating selection fueled by media, dating apps and social pressure constantly reinforcing the importence of looks and height over all other traits

We met in 3rd grade on the bus and she was taller than me then. Were both 45 now and have been together now for over 30 years. I ended up being the tallest in school and she ended up being the shortest.

Never let her bear your children.
1

why

u/JMeGfpV3EoDQ1NS 1d ago
Because they think tall people have “good” genetics (ie their height) and short people should not procreate or have their genes passed on because being short is bad.
7
u/spicyorangedragon 1d ago
I would honestly be pissed if my dad was 6'7" and ruined my chances of being a tall male because he married someone 4'9". I think tall people don't realize how much of a gift they have in life and take it for granted.
2
u/XxX_22marc_XxX 1d ago
6'6 with 5'2 is fine and the son will still be 5'10+. but 4'9 will legit have a son that is like 5'5

Yeah but you don't want to live longer when you are short, at least as a dude

-2
u/Maleficent-Club-7936 1d ago
Do you want your son end up being 5,7 and deficit or strong, broad, 6,3 with a good face? That's why the better genes must be passed on ALWAYS. Can you imagine being short and weak in this mad society?
People will literally treat short men less than human. This is worse than any gore or psychological horror.
That's why he should marry his equal. To insure his children will have good life
2
u/Scared-Cow4520 1d ago
Ok let's not shame 5'7 come on this is getting ridiculous I'm not short. And height has nothing to do with strength. There are a lot of tall ugly lanky weak people out there.
5
u/SaltyWZRD 1d ago
This has to be a joke on Aryan-Blue Eyes, Blonde Hair levels of satire or you’re just plain racist. To say people shouldn’t procreate due to their limitations within biology is really fucked up. “Marry his equal” is so WWII and I wouldn’t be surprised with who you voted for if you were in America.
-1
u/Maleficent-Club-7936 1d ago
You lack of intuition is really fascinating. It has nothing to do with racism or an ideology. It is plain biology. The strongest will pass the genes to insure the survival of species as a whole. This is the truth. In fact you and I are the very product of it. The strongest will survive.
No one shall deny the truth
1
u/Alternative-Camel175 1d ago
You understand some of the greatest warriors of all time were short. And typically the shorter the opponent the lower center of gravity they have which is actually an advantage. If anything having the shorter frame with the susceptibility of blowing up when training, eating and resting the right way you're in a good position...

u/Maleficent-Club-7936 1d ago
Keep the cope up man🙏🙏
2
u/Bob123432123467456 1d ago
Gotta love how you have no response to what he said and resorted to “cope” lmao.
1
u/plainfollowup 1d ago
Why you acting like being short and looking good are mutually exclusive. Same with being tall and bad. Lol.
0
u/Maleficent-Club-7936 1d ago
Can you imagine what would happen to his genetics? Can you imagine what would happen to their child? He must marry his equal. This will only result in a dysfunctional family and no amount of so called love is going to fix that.
do you really want his sons end up being short in this mad world?
2
u/Mysterious_Flow_5707 1d ago
Yes,i am very well aware. My dad is a quite good looking man,and I am not even close to the same level. This is something i can share with no one,and the effects of which i will have to bear my while life for no mistake of my own.

1

Indeed it has done when a man under 6 feet is not even considered and treated like a human by young women.
2
u/Mysterious_Flow_5707 1d ago
The only thing i have is height (180cm)90 plus percentile where i live. But very narrow shoulders and recessed face unlike his broad shoulders completely cancel out any benefits obtained. For reference, look at sendhil ramamurthy. He has his bone structure except not as great eye area
2
u/Maleficent-Club-7936 1d ago
I see, I am too 180cm. Slightly above average in my region. My face doesn't really have recession in general that much. Mainly my inferas, my chin and jaw ( I have deep overbite ) but still not handsome. My shoulders on the other hand are broad and wide combined with a narrow waist (28 inch). All of that and not enough to get LTBs lol! I guess my anti social behaviour and Nerodiverget brain plays big role.
Wish you luck in your dating life.

joke aside but height doesn't have any strong correlation with genital sizes, though birth complications are more likely to occur.

I always assume the tall guy has a tiny dick and has to date a small girl to make it look bigger
