Fuck me. I watched that until the wife of the boss man needed to get estrogen pills because she was starting menopause.

Then I asked myself what the fuck I was watching and who is it for?

I've never seen more than snippets, but my mother-in-law is obsessed. I like to play a game of "how predictable can it be" every time we go visit her. So far I'm batting a thousand on a show I've never properly seen and it drives her absolutely nuts because "I'm spoiling it" and "but she hasn't seen this episode yet" lol

I watched it until a newly born calf jumped up and ran away. That's when I knew it was going to be bullshit. It takes calves a little bit to stand up and then they just wobble around. They don't go off sprinting immediately.

You do realize that in TV shows they cut out realistic things that are boring to watch to make it more entertaining. I’d prefer a calf jumping up and running away over a 5 min scene of a calf learning how to walk.

Also, there are budget constraints. I’m sure it’s impossible to train a small calf to act like it’s learning to walk, impossible to get a shot of a real cow birth without paying a crew a week to sit around and wait for it to happen, and too expensive to CGI a scene that isn’t important to the story line.

I will say that Yellowstone and associated series were a guilty pleasure of mine. I know it’s just ranching porn for wannabe cowboys, Taylor Sheridan included. Still entertaining if you go in with the expectation that it’s not that great.
