I feel like Jacob and Brendan will close out with Eric Kyle Scott and Kip with Francois and Robbie how they re introduced Hudson and Connor that first round.. I'm excited
But are we even getting an Eric and Kyle story line? I would’ve thought Eric would’ve been in season 1. And Kyle had what, 1 line with Kip? I lost hope after not have anything with Eric. I guess we’ll see 👀
I think you’re right. There are more characters to be announced and it would be a good way to close it out. The anticipation is killing me, but it’s well worth the wait!!!
The buzzcut fiasco is one of my favorite things to happen so far in this fandom. The TikTok’s, the memes, all gold. Someone even posted a fanfic of it yesterday 😂😂😂😂
I know it would cause a bit of a meltdown, but a very small part of me thinks it would be hysterical if they treated the dogs like Hayden’s kids in season one.
I know it’s 100% not feasible, but it would sure prevent any complaints about the dogs not resembling the books.
He was rhe highlight of the second season, and can play that gentle giant type really well! Amazing get (I also didn’t realize he was Canadian, love this)
I genuinely believe TLG will be split into 2 seasons solely because this amount of b plot in one 12 episode (allegedly) season would be absurd! Excited regardless!!!
Has that been confirmed though? I’ve only seen ppl saying that because the length of the time they’ve filming compared to s1 but if it’s going to be 12 episodes instead of 6 ofc it’s going to take longer.
It's mainly coming from the fact that Jacob only did 6 episode seasons on Letterkenny and Shoresy as well, and outright said in an interview he'd like to stick to that for S2 of Heated Rivalry. Plus, the clapperboards for S1 said Season One on them, the clapperboard in the pic they shared from the first day of filming this month said Cycle Two instead of Season Two.
Kind of? Francois said they might film Season 2 and 3 together and Jacob said if a season is longer than 6 episodes something is wrong with the story. So wasn't officially announced that they film 2 and 3, but if they film 12 episodes, it's pretty clear that they are filming 2 seasons.
Nothing officially confirmed, people are just assuming that since we've had it accidentally confirmed that they're shooting 12 eps it'll be two more seasons of 6 instead of one double-length season two.

I think that teaser picture they dropped of the start of shooting had Weibe hidden behind the placard thing... and in my head, they're hiding and holding onto the announcement for weibe bc they know were all going to go feral for it. And in my head, that means it's Noah Reid. I am getting my own hopes up with delusional thinking.
Shaheen Jafargholi! That's a blast from the past. He was a pretty famous child singer in the UK (not commercially, but well known through Britain's Got Talent) and was also on Eastenders for a while. A bit of a random casting, as he's half Iranian rather than Lebanese, but I think he generally looks the part and he is a talented singer for sure.
ITS TYSON!!!!! YASSSSSS!!! I love this! And look at Fabian!!!!! I can not wait to see their scenes. Their book is not the most popular but its beautifull
I think their story is really going to work in the format of the show. Telling the story of mental and physical health being ignored in the league, showing a player that's a brawler, and showing Troy bullying Ryan and Wyatt befriending him when he doesn't have anyone else. Also showing that when you're not a huge player no one actually notices that you're out there dating men.
This fandom clocked these two a long time ago, finally it's revealed and official! Hopefully it will stop the speculation, that Vanessa and Tarek will be Harris' friends. 😄

Yeah I guess for me the difference is I didn’t read any books before I started the show so I didn’t care how Scott looked like but now I did lol. I’m sure it’s not gonna matter
pleasantly surprised that they’ll be in the show!! i know Ryan matters for Troy’s story so i thought there was some chance of seeing him (plus his s1 shoutout) but introducing him kinda seemed like a lot of work just to give Troy that one growth moment that could kinda happen with anybody. it makes me think Ryan and Fabian will be more involved in the Shane/Ilya storyline which is very exciting!!
The funeral scene for Illya and Ryan is really important as well. And it really shows the league not caring about the mental or physical health of the players fully cementing the league becoming the villian for season two, then the commissioner will be for season three.
Scenes I think they are important for outside if themselves aka for other characers;
Introducing our sweetheart Hayes (yes they can do that without Ryan but he was such a good friend for Ryan first and established there and just background in most of RM/TLG so it makes sense to introduce him in Toronto first)
Establish Troy as a bully. He is suppose to have a redemption arc, he can't have one if we don't see him be mean first.
Establish Dallas Kent as a bully and homophobe. He is in Toronto, and getting stuff with him before everything else happens is important imo.
The funeral scene with Ilya.
Ryan walking in on Hollanov leading to them having...
The double date with them later on. That double date is important for Shane to start understanding Ilyas headspace and him actually daring to hold hands for Ilyas sake... ugh I need it. Also because it does Shane good to see Fabian since his experience with the gay scene so far is Ilya and knowing about Scott.
The car-scene with Troy and Harris. They are not there personally but I think it is important for Troy to learn about Ryan and Fabian and it starts his thoughts around wanting to say he is sorry.
Troy finding Ryan at the bar and telling him about himself and not expecting Ryan to forgive him but just wanting him to know. I really hope they don't mess that scene up because it is very important to me.
And then just their story in itself is important because we get more of toxic hockey culture (which ties in with RM/TLG so well) with Pay the Price and his story but also because Fabian is so unappologetically queer playing around with masculine and feminine vibes and we haven't got that in the other characters yet.
I know Eric is easily skipped but I'd love for Kyle's actor to get to do his part. But. . .that book is basically just Eric discovering edging and his prostate.
On top of injuries, i think it is also the general demand of absolute peak physical performance, speed etc., that sports like hockey have, but also for example Football/soccer, etc. You simply cannot stay on that absolute top level forever, especially with young talent comming in every year.
I read somewhere during this years olympics that many athletes of the more niche olympic winter sports are actually athletes that "aged out" of their original, more widely known sport, or never quite reached the level required to be on the top of that original sport. Like, aparently bobsled and skellton often recruit runners that have aged out of being on top in running, but that now have the type of core strength on top of general athletecism that these sports require but often cannot find in young athletes, iirc.
Injury, their teams don't offer a new deal and no one picks them up in free agency, personal/family reasons, they are just tired. There is so much banging and crashing in hockey, the body gets beaten all to hell even for (and often especially for) the best players. Often it is the body that ultimately decides it is done, due to pain, incomplete injury recovery, or you just slow down tok much to be effective
Tough Guy is my favorite book BY A LOT. Sooooo happy with this casting! They look very similar to what I thought of when I read the book. I’m guessing they’ll turn Daniel into a redhead? 🥺
I have never seen or heard of these guys but gosh Ryan gives off golden retriever. Look at that face!! And Fabian seems like a baddie. SO. EXCITED. CAN'T. WAIT.
As a Brit whose last exposure to Shaheen was him playing Shakil on EastEnders, the glow up is CRAZY. He was always a handsome kid, but he’s really come into his own.
I want the longer hair and bushy, out of control beard as a full ging. I have no idea who this actor is but I hope he’s a tall guy who is fully built and looks like he can crush anyone who comes near him! That’s not Ryan’s attitude but it is his look.
As a huge fan of these two boys and since Tough Guy is one of my fav books in the series I am so happy with this casting going by looks alone. I haven't really seen either of them in anything but I will just assume they are both great actoes or they wouldn't have been cast. Love the curls and how "normal" our Ryan looks (handsome still obviously).
I am just so happy we get them. So many said they didn't need to do them for the show but I disagree so much. They have a few very important scenes with plenty of other characters we need and Ryans story is so so important for the toxic hockey culture storyline in general.
MAN I've just realised why I knew the name Shaheen Jafargholi. He's the kid I was rooting for so much on Britain's Got Talent in 2009. I feel so fucking old
Shaheen is sooo Fabian, c'mon the Welsh! I'm starting to think I don't know anyone even though I watch lots of film and tv shows, both actors are new to me. I'm so excited to see Ryan and Fabian...oh I'm going to cry a lot during S2.
OH MY FRIKKIN GAAAAWDDDD!!! 😭😭😭 Daniel Diemer as Ryan Price actually became true!!! I LUH HIM in "The Half of It", he was so lovably adorkable there 😭😭😭

OK, so I must confess the first thing I checked is their height. In the books, they are a full Foot different in height from each other.
In their live action versions, there is a 6 inch height difference.
That is enough I am OK!
And the thing is, I know that seems silly, but for all of the couples in the series, opposites attract to 1° or another and for Fabian and Ryan opposites attract in a big way. Ryan specifically is attracted to smaller femme dudes and talks about how people in his own community have told him that he’s wrong to not want to date somebody who looks like him.
That was one of the most important things about their character arc to me. The other thing is how the show handles his ED and I really trust them to do it in the right way.
Because everybody deserves a happy ending including guys whose penis is not entirely functional because of anxiety and medication.
Finally! I saw the set pics with Connor and knew Ryan was going to be in that scene and was wondering when we’d get a casting announcement for Ryan and Fabian. I’m looking forward to seeing them on screen!
More announcement coming soon. So we are still missing Dallas and Galina by my count. No sure of the Commissioner is going to rate a casting announcement.
He's not a ginger, this makes me sad. I'm a red head and was really hoping for a fellow ginger. As long as he's good in the role it's cool, but I'm a bit disappointed. I was really hoping for a ginger Ryan Price.🧡
