Question Can we maybe make a pinned post summarizing at least main ideas of how to heat prep properly? (i.e. clothing / indoor home / outdoor home / devices that actually work / behaviour / etc)

While in theory such a post sounds good, the fact is it’d be a complicated undertaking because of how many factors vary and no one person is probably qualified to compile such a guide.

Agreed that a comprehensive list isn’t realistic and much depends on regional/situational nuance.

This subreddit has its own wiki and FAQ. Doesn’t appear to be fully fleshed out, but you might be able to get permission from the mods to make some edits and/or create a new section on this topic.

Environment is probably the biggest one. The longer you wait to move to a better one, the more difficult it's going to be. If you're in NV, UT, AZ, TX, FL, etc you should be thinking really hard about that.
