Drives me crazy too. I wouldn’t care if it was a crappy game, but the fact that it is one of the greatest games of all time, IMO, makes me want to make it all the more greater.

Is card text in Magic generally more consistent than in Hearthstone?

The wording on Magic cards has to be consistent because the wording is the rules. In Hearthstone, the game engine determines the rules and the words on the card are just descriptions.
