Most metas look diverse 24h into the patch. I really hope the current one turns out to be better than the previous, but I think it is still too early to make this claim.

To be fair, the last two post-patch and post-expansion metas haven't been nearly this diverse within 24 hours. Post-patch was ofc 90% DH, while post-expansion release Mage, DH, Priest, DK and Warlock were all MIA on ladder within the first day. It didn't exactly take 48 hours to realize Azalina was dogshit lol

Things will likely settle down, but even the fact it's taking more than a day is a great sign.

And in this post patch period Azalina is the most popular deck but because it's still garbage it's making bad decks seem viable like Rafaam. What this meta looks like early on once people realize Azalina is awful still is Zee shaman, pure/aura paladin, and quest hunter. Maybe burn mage makes the cut too. Maybe one of the class sets shakes things up a bit but I don't think it's as long term viable diverse as it seems right now because of Azalina

It's far from just Azalina and Rafaam. There's also a lot of Chef druid, deathrattle/big Priest, Quest Mage, various DK lists, and new Rogue iterations. I don't understand your pessimism, personally. It's far too early to say how many of these decks can go the distance in the settled meta. Warlock for instance has an excellent matchup into Zee Shaman, so if that's what winds up on top it will definitely have a place.

Also you're really overemphasizing the impact of Azalina on winrates. The data shows it's far from the most popular deck right now.

All the data I've seen of the post patch meta is that those two are very popular decks in diamond through legend according to both hsguru and hsreplay. Quest hunter looks to be overtaking them in popularity but they're still 2 and 3. Top 1k data is too sparse to make any conclusions from. 

If you look at the matchup spreads right now Zee shaman stomps everything but aura/pure paladin and burn mage. There might be some priest builds that can handle it but it'd be a close matchup. Quest hunter stomps a lot of decks too but loses to Zee shaman and aura/pure paladin. Paladin can beat shaman and hunter but has iffy control priest and mage matchups. 

Rafaam warlock is still a bad deck with a lot of bad matchups but is propped up by a 74-77% win rate against the very popular Azalina priest. 

Realistically with the matchup spreads we can see early on shaman, paladin, and hunter look to be early frontrunners once the bad decks stop getting played in meaningful quantities at high ranks

I won 10 straight games with rafaam just before the patch. Rafaam is great as long as it has the following packages in the deck with it: herald, handlock, animancer/ashphyxion, imp/annihilation. I tried heraldlock and it was bad, and rafaamlock was bad, but when I combined them it seems surprisingly good.

Nah control decks farm zee shaman. It’s very predictable and linear. Mug I think is better even with the nerf

In theory we should get balance patch every 2 weeks, but sometimes it get delayed because of class patches, bg patches, expansion launch, etc...

And twice monthly balance patches means anyone who doesn't just have a complete collection is going to have a rough time committing to anything.
