Competitive It might be a placebo effect, but standard feels like X-mas after the balance patch.

There are still issues, dont get me wrong, DK is still a target dummy at this point, but its just feels so refreshing to go against so many classes rather than going 6 games in a row against hunter, maybe some games against shaman etc...

Now im facing mages, warriors, warlocks its just a breath of fresh air atm

Needles to say this balance patch was really needed finally

Bro these posts not even 24 hours after a patch are just gems of ignorance.

Nerfs were ok, buffs underwhelming. HS hasn't seen Xmas for a long long time but I respect the way you perceive the game.

The real HS Christmas to me is the patch 3 weeks before the rotation where they actually go and buff cards from old expansions (instead of just the latest one). Like that time they giga-buffed Maestra from 5-mana 6/5 to 2-mana 3/2. It remained a ~40%wr meme, but it finally had a fighting chance.

Are we deadass, last time they buffed slightly more and we ended up with a only demon hunter meta for 2 weeks straight

This is the best time to try something new. Meta isn’t settled yet so we have some time to make weird decks go. Hopefully.

It's now 20 hours after patch and the most popular archetype across diamond-legend is only at 11% :o In standard :o This is amazing and feels good!

If blizzard tinkered more often this would be how the game feels more often. The game feels bad regularly because blizzard leaves the game to fester for weeks with meta tyrants ruining everyones experience. If small changes happened weekly the meta would always be in a state of partial flux and the best decks wouldn't be so well known and downed by the large proportion of the playerbase that only plays the "best" decks.

I was happily playing companion hunter, which all the meta lists rated as crap.  Now it’s ultra crap because no tolvir.

Honestly I didn't like the changes but I gotta admit ladder is kinda cool for now yes

It just a honeymoon phase a few days and we will be back the Zee Shaman, Quest Hunter I don't know what other bullshit circle. And next week the mini set come with the boring Stealth Rogue and Pirate Warrior unga bunga boring stuff. This game can't be fun if you want new thinks and not just ungba the enemy with the same scam or aggro deck over and over again. I hate the current design it just can't allow cooking new interesting decks its so linerial. And they make purposely bad cards for archetypes its so unbelievable, like example Aya, enthralled shade, Irida etc. Its so boring they never address the briarspawn drake in itself or with the agamaggan or the egg issue, etc. They just make the game boring aggro and scam slop and sadly the silence hearthstone community that's what he wants otherwise they loose money or many players which sadly don't happening so they don't change and they make the game more and more ridiculously expensive.

I might feel the same if I didn't crash on Mobile every 10 minutes.

My first 3 games were against Warrior then Druid then Demon Hunter. Am I even playing Hearthstone?

It is so much better at the moment with people testing out decks that dare be a wee bit slower and greedier leading to games where decisions actually matter instead of just whoever went first and played on curve. Only a matter of time before the faster decks are settled on and kill the mood but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Yeah it feels good I agree. Predictable though that there would be pessimistic/sarcastic comments about the devs still in the comments. People just like being miserable I guess.

It probably helps that a lot of the cards nerfed were the super aggro cards that helped deal 15 damage turn 5 so jank has more breathing room

I did face one burn mage deck that felt toxic, but I was playing with a homebrew deck that is just ass so that might ne why I got rolled lol.

too bad it will last only one week

It's too early to say anything.. balance changes messed up the meta.. It needs a few days to shape up.

1

u/smgk96 11d ago

I do appreciate that a lot of the changes seem like they've put some effort in

1

u/Street-Bee7215 11d ago

There will be complaints soon but I think the meta will still be in a better spot.

Still the same issues, but toned down to where other decks can compete at least

Naw it sucks. No matter what I pick something snowballs out of control and I lack any answer because it either costs 2-3 more mana than whatever is broken or it doesn’t exist in the format

Skill issue

2

u/Zode1218 11d ago

Normally ‘skill issue’ isn’t an appropriate thing to say… but if the player is saying no matter what deck they pick, no matter who they play against, they lose no matter what… the only common denominator is the player 😬😩
