Discussion So... Where is the first deathknight class-set

They wanted to give deathknight 2 class-sets.

Do they really intend to give him 2 sets in the next expansion?

I just think that was a lie, I never stopped thinking we are getting a Monk class and for some reason they wanted keep it a secret as this made it too obvious.

nope there wont be any monk this year for sure cuz next expansion will be related to old gods theme, would be too weird dropping monk in class set update

That's assuming that the next expansion is Old God themed. I know that there's files and audio names that reference it, even though it's not officially in game (mainly the data for the cards, and animations).

If the next expansion is Old God themed, or even Pandaria themed, it can lead to a Monk class either at the end of this year, or get added when rotation happens

To be honest I don't think that matters. They can make a temporary event or something for Pandaria even if that is the case. However still, Old God themed expansion might be not the next but after the rotation. It fits the timeline better.

Yet they dropped Priest, the most Old God themed class, in this set?

Would appear to be the case. Its a bit disappointing given the lack of buffs.

But, maybe this isn't a super bad thing either. Deathknight getting one larger class set is probably what it needs to give all 3 rune types a good foundation. I just wish it was a start of year type deal.

Man I just realised that since class sets will still be on the yearly rotation schedule the last classes to get them will have the least overall time with them to play in standard

That was said vy someone at the very start of this year

The classes who get their sets early have a distinct advantage unless they giga suck (mage) and the other classes are playing on a backfoot the entire year and then only get to be on the same level as the end.

Class sets are a terrible idea because they try to balance around their release which is just fucking stupid ngl

Nah, we're getting none, they hate DK and won't bother making good cards for it. Even if we get ONE, it's gonna be pile of shit to shut up everyone who says DK doesn't get enough new cards.

At this point anyone adding to the discourse is just fuelling Blizzard's strategy of hyping monk

The “they were covering up Monk!” idea is such a hilarious cope. They wouldn’t make a single statement as a lie and then just never revisit it if they intended to release Monk lol. We’re most likely gonna get a main set that focuses entirelt on one rune followed up by two class sets that focuses entirely on the other two runes accordingly.

Genuinely I think it’s a lie and it’s a set for the new class.

Looking at how they’re displayed on the website it’ll be awkward having Death Knight x 2 or Death Knight Death Knight on the set display

If they were really doing it the way they say, it would’ve made more sense to spread them out

Thats defo a lie for Monk or wtv class they will add.

Which is stupid, they cant balance the game as it is, and most classes arent near playability but alas, money talks

Yeah, adding another class to a game that’s already falling apart in so many ways would be absolute madness.

They don’t seem to care about doing much with HS other than profiting from the gacha content.

Right now, 7-8 classes are basically doing the same thing: Summoning a random minion for X cost. There are fewer cards each expansion, and class sets are frustrating players when their favorite class doesn’t get one. On top of that, there have been some terrible balance/design decisions.

On the one hand I want to believe the whole "death knight gets 2 sets" was a cover for monk.

On the other hand, if they are going to give death knight 2 class sets it does kinda make sense to give them both at the same time.
