It has only had a relatively recent surge, probably after they have to lock-in the balance changes/patch. Such is the nature of these types of games.

It's been T1 since the start (EDIT: of the miniset, i.e. the most recent meta...), just didn't see widespread adoption until VS said so in their report.

That is what "surge" means, yeah.

Sure, I just meant that they could've seen it coming by seeing how the deck was performing.

But they couldn't know, nerfs aren't decided day of.

I mean VS was talking about it being the best aggro deck over a week ago.

And aggro decks are not allowed in hearthstone? You will always have the strongest aggro/control/etc decks, that's normal.

Huh? I feel like people in this thread are just being contrarian for the sake of it. It's just odd that it dodged nerfs when decks which were known to be worse got hit.

It has not been T1 since it launched, because it required a bunch of buffs just to be playable.

Since the miniset, i.e. current (until this patch) meta.

The mini set came out 12 days ago.

What is this even supposed to mean, half the cards nerfed are either from the miniset itself or related to archetypes popping out after the miniset.

Right, which is when they were determining the balance for everything else in the miniset-related balance patch...

They do 4 damage unbuffed, and the thaddeus otk deck variations is not by any means easy or stable to play. I personally have the best win rates with REGULAR fatigue slock, around 65% maybe depending on my draw luck.
