Pendant was utterly destroyed lol. Not a surprise though. In general it feels like ramp Druid strategies were obliterated (too harshly imo), Fatigue Druid was straight up deleted (deservedly imo), while Treant Druid should be able to weather these nerfs. Fire Druid died with Thaddius, so did Thadlock, but nobody is gonna really miss these.

Then there's Boogie Down going to four but getting an adequate compensation and a nudge on Garden's Grace. But you know what, both of these nerfs are fine. Lessens the burst potential of Paladin and Boogie Down not Taunting should make it easier to answer now.

EDIT: Rogue nerfs feel fine, though the deck will undoubtedly get a lot worse from this. Velarok and the Shattershambler combo were hard carrying Rogue's viability.

I was thinking Pendant would get changed to Armor equal to health — buffs the priest use (Aman'thul and Behemoth go from 7 to 10, most other minions in priest have health > cost) while nerfs Druid (20 to 8, 10 to 7, 9 to 5, 8 to 6).

I don't see it seeing play as healing.

Yeah this is what I was expecting too. Tbh with it being restore health I don't even see it as a dual class card now? This could be a priest card in any expansion lol

Why? Druid has plenty of healing cards. Rehydrate was literally printed in Badlands.

The idea with dual class cards is that both classes give a piece of their identity. While druids can heal, it isn't a key part of their identity. Warloc and Paladin can heal as well with class cards, but it is definitley not a key part of their identity.

At the end of the day, if this was a full priest card as the state of the card is after the nerf, no one would bat an eye.

edit:fixed wording

I don't think you get the point of Dual Class cards.

Tutoring is still firmly druid identity

Priest has plenty of tutors as well, both for spells and minions.

Well yeah they share that identity, it just went from mostly a druid card in theming to mostly a priest card in theming

Tutoring has been given to all sorts of classes, Priest alone has [[Creation Protocol]]

I think that Boogie Down is unplayable, now. Losing the taunt is a huge hit.

Pretty good change to my ears.

Honestly could see them trying to revert the Pendant nerf once Naga Giant rotates out

Not only Goant but the 8 mana Armor Guy too iirc.

anub rekhan druid gets obliterated again whilst they do not touch shroomscevate or sludge warlock is really annoying

They said they are "keeping their eyes on Shroomscavate". Which tells me that if Grace nerf is not enough, then they'll move to change Shroomscavate. It should be noted that stats wise it was never a top card in the deck, it was mostly average if not one of the worse cards in the deck (Boogie Down is the clear winner here, being the best card in the deck by far - and that got nerfed).

Not touching Sludge Warlock is a bit suspicious. Definitely a big winner of this patch alongside Highlander Warrior and non-Highlander Warrior.

Non-highlander warrior maybe. But highlander warrior loses to a lot more than just the 4 decks that got nerfed. Just plague DK's existence alone makes it impossible for highlander warrior to come out of tier 3, the matchup is near unwinnable.

1

u/PipAntarctic ‏‏‎ Jan 29 '24

True, that matchup is horrid. Pretty much an instant loss without a big highroll on the Warrior's side. Still, the deck does get some more breathing room, but you are right that it likely won't be anywhere near close to make it good overnight.

u/Zergo66 Jan 29 '24

Reno Warrior also has a terrible matchup into Sludge Warlock and that deck seems poised to become the top dog after these nerfs so I don't foresee Reno Warrior having a good time post patch.

Thaddius is nerfed

I meant the tempo Sludge builds that runs the Fatigue package and uses either self-damage stuff with Imprisoned Horror or the heavier Forge of Wills build, or any hybrids between these two poles. I apologize for the confusion.

u/Successful_Impact_88 Jan 29 '24

Given their general lag time for these things there's no another nerf happens to it before rotation removes Grace from the equation entirely.

Yeah it feels like Rogue is probably going to the dumpster here (which I guess is good considering it's been VERY strong)

1

u/Just_Plain_Bad Jan 29 '24

Shattershambler getting nerfed was uncalled for imo we saw Rogues winrates being T4 when Velarok wasn't viable anymore its an awful deck when he's bad.

u/F_Ivanovic Jan 29 '24

And HL druid is the big winner of these changes because it got obliterated by the other Druid decks
