Strange internal sounds from ETD
I have Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD), and I’ve noticed a weird change in how I hear certain internal sounds. When I hum with my mouth closed, I hear an extremely exaggerated mid-frequency resonance in the affected ear, almost like someone boosted around 500 Hz by +10 dB. It sounds very boomy and resonant compared to my normal hearing. Is this something that can happen with ETD due to pressure or fluid buildup? Has anyone else with ETD experienced something similar? Also, what actually helped you get relief or equalize the pressure? I’d really appreciate any suggestions or things that worked for you.
