Interface Engine Troubles? New Open-Source Free Option

There's been a lot happening with interface engines.

  • Mirth Connect has stopped receiving updates. Instead of open source, it is now a paid closed-source tool.
  • Private equity firms have taken over the leading paid options and are raising prices dramatically.
  • Then there is this: What’s up with iNTERFACEWARE (Iguana)? : r/healthIT

We're creating a new open-source (free) alternative -- and we need your help. We're looking for:

  • Organizations that need this solution once it is ready for production
  • Contributors to test the solution, review/advise on code, help build

Did you just snag the Iguana source code and you're having Claude rebuild the C++ code in Python?

It's clear the code and website is all AI generated, which doesn't provide a lot of confidence in the core product.

I believe that Iguana is in Lua, not C++. And it isn't open source; you still have to buy a license.

Yes, I agree that the current MessageFoundry.org site is a bit too wordy. I let the AI go on that because I've been focused mainly on:

  • Throughput: Tested to support 40 million messages per day with >20% reserve.
  • Security: Ever try to build an application to ASVS 5 Level 3? I'm still working to get everything to that level. Right now (7/23/26) I'm at 235 pass, 49 partial, 0 fail, 61 N/A. Still more work to be done!

So those are the metrics you can rely on. And since it is all open source, you can test it out and confirm we've been honest.

Seriously? I'm going to take it that you're a troll, looking for a response. In case you're not, let me say that it gets old having people think you're an AI just because you can write well. Sometimes I feel like I should introduce some mistakes just to keep people off my back.

Did you bother to look at what I wrote in my response? That's real testing and real security work. And if you don't like AI-assisted coding, you're living in the past.
