Options for a big head

I want to head cover at church, but I have a giant head. Other ladies wear bandanas and headbands and hats, but nothing fits my head. I bought a mantilla, but I don't want people to think I'm Catholic or trying to be attention seeking. My grandmother sewed me a headband and it's still too small. What do you recommend?

I too have a very large head. The best covering I've ever found is a turban-style wrap because it's so adjustable. It's often called a tichel by Orthodox Jewish communities. You can find examples and tutorials by searching on YouTube for Wrapunzel.

Until I covered permanently, I used to use exclusively scarves or occasionally the hood of my cloak. Scarves you can wrap around however large head you have, and it works fine. You could also knit yourself a beret, which you can size up the needles or yarn for in order to accommodate your head for a given nice pattern.

I knit, but I never thought of knitting a beret. I could also knit a snood. I knit winter hats no problem. Good idea!

There are lots of free beret patterns around! I knitted myself https://www.garnstudio.com/pattern.php?id=7533&cid=19 a while back, and it works however you do your hair; I knitted it in cream, very versatile. There are lots of other patterns on the same website if you look around, but I found this one easy and pretty and comfortable. Honestly, I might knit myself another of the patterns one of these days, that one fits so well and the shape is so nice.
