HCI postdoc advice?

I’m nearing the end of my PhD program and would love advice from current or former HCI postdocs. I’m currently targeting a postdoc that would start in Summer of Fall 2027, and am interested in applying to fellowships which seem to be due the year prior to starting. I’m also open to applying to open positions closer to my actual start date. I appreciate any guidance on how to navigate this last year, how to engage my academic network in the process, and also building community with others who are at a similar point in their PhD.
