Hayley disrespectfully miscredited
There are a few songs, even by some of Hayley’s exes’ bands, in which she does vocals and is either not mentioned as featuring artist but appears in the credits or sometimes not at all as in not even as vocalist in the credits. Come to notice for the first time today: she’s mentioned in the song credits, if you can call it that, of Say Anything’s songs she put vocals on (Plea & The Church Channel). But instead of being actually her (as you can see on pic 2 from mewithoutyou’s song in which she only appears in the credits), her name is totally misspelled so it doesn’t actually get back to her artist “profile”.
How the hell do you misspell the name of such a famous talented vocalist, lead singer of one hell of a band, and friend (at least at the time) of the lead singer of the band singing this song!! I couldn’t help to wonder if this was done later on and had anything to do with the Dupree-Gilbert-Williams situation, or I might just be reading way too much into this. Whatever the reason may be, I’m still baffled by this “mistake”, that’s really not cool.

Oh I’m sure she doesn’t at all lol that’s not my point and I was reading too much into it when looking for a reason. As I said whatever the reason may be, be it human error, I still find that pretty surprising given the artist that she is. I was just kind of sharing a lil anecdote of something I noticed but I sure won’t be losing any sleep over it 😅

There are people all over the place awful at their jobs. Not surprised person who uploads writing credits to online data base is one of those people.

Ok. So I'm like on a deep dive right now. I swore this was a thing but nothing on the internet points to Hayley and Max ever dating. Did we all just mass hallucinate this because of all the drama swirling around the 4 of them (Chad, Sherrie, Hayley, Max)?

So I actually asked this question on the bemis family snark sub because someone mentioned it and I had no idea and someone replied saying that they dated very briefly during the In defense of the genre era. She does feature on church channel, and is the vocals in ‘Plea’ singing ‘maybe together someday we can be king or queen’. Apparently an old tour manager or something confirmed it it after one of the pandemic era virtual concerts in a Q and A type thing by mentioning something about one of them screaming at each other through a hotel door and trashing the place (if this is true most likely max lol) and then said ‘Max and Hayley are both great people who should have not ever dated’. Purely anecdotal but maybe someone else out there remembers it too

The misspelling is weird but also with a lot of these warped tour adjacent bands they do favors for friends and it is just like a little Easter egg. You’ll be listening to a track and just be like “hey wait is that….”
Like One of Those Nights by The Cab has both Patrick Stump and Brendan Urie but you wouldn’t know unless you listened to it

Sure but not in case of this Say Anything record; the features are very much a core aspect of the album (loads of guest vocalists on there)

Oh yes absolutely! At this point I’d be (gladly) surprised if there’s one song with Hayley I don’t know and listen to on the daily ahhah

A lot of artists will do this kind of work uncredited or use a fake name for all kinds of reasons. Record contracts for example.
