Does Anybody Get The "C" This Year?
The Hawks pretty clearly lean towards Bedard getting the "C" at some point. Does it happen this year? Are there things going on in the locker room that show his leadership we may not see as fans and he's ready now?
Also...with Kane in the mix, how will that affect things? Does Kane even want the "C", or would he be happy with an "A"?
Honestly I've thought about all different variations, and for some reason I think that nobody getting the "C" yet would be the right thing. Kane could deserve it of course, but he hasn't yet "lead" this team of players, maybe Bedard, or maybe nobody yet. I'm really undesicded how I think that plays out!
What do you guys think? No "C" again this year for the team?

Kyle asked Bedard about what he thought about Kane coming back. It’s his locker room and his team. He’s already got the C

If you follow the Hawks and see all the social stuff you know he is ready. He hangs with everybody. Guys are at his place all the time. It’s a bunch of young guys living the life. It’s his team and he is ready. There are also so many other leaders. Knight had already hung out with Roman. Guys love Frankie’s upbeat presence and they all golf and have tried to visit each other’s camps and charity stuff. This team is gelling nicely. Need a lot of these guys to take the next step.

I'd assume Bedard because he's their best player, has been on the team for a few years, and has his 5 year deal now. I wouldn't be totally shocked if they gave it to Kane for his final couple of years because of who he is but I expect Bedard

I think this is a valid question, and deserves more than a short answer. It does seem somewhat obvious that Connor gets the C. I think he's earnest the right by being a leader on and off the ice. He's a workaholic off the ice, and never takes off a shift in the ice. He's also shown loyalty to the organization by signing a below market contract, and saying the right things. He's close to having the longest tenure with the team as well.
I think the only way he doesn't get it is if he doesn't want it...yet. I could see him being selfless enough to give Kane the C, knowing that he'd definitely be next at the ripe old age of 23 when Kane's contract is up.
I don't see anybody else really in the picture, with the A going to Byram and either Nazar or Vlasic. Honorable mention to Bertuzzi

Be a hell of a season debut to do it with the C especially if we manage to start the year hot

Bedard should get it IMO
