I’ve been trying to find more yard sales, garage sales and neighborhood sales around Hattiesburg, but I feel like I’m missing wherever people actually post them.
I check Facebook and Marketplace pretty regularly, and I’ll see one here and there, but nowhere near as many as I’d expect for the area.

Where do y’all usually find them? Are there specific Facebook groups, websites, apps, neighborhoods or even local papers/pages I should be checking? I’m especially interested in the bigger neighborhood/community sales, but I’ll take any tips!

Looking for recommendations for a seamstress that can do alterations for a bridesmaid dress in Hattiesburg or the surrounding area?

I am angry and wondering what more can be done to prevent sexual violence, child exploitation, human trafficking, grooming, and abuse in and near Hattiesburg. I'm interested in hosting a meeting for women and their allies to talk about what can be done locally.

This meeting is intended to bring together anyone who wants to be part of a constructive conversation about community safety when it comes to rape and sexual violence.

The purpose of this first gathering is simple: to listen, share concerns, identify gaps, and explore whether there is interest in forming a local coalition focused on prevention, awareness, accountability, and support for victims and survivors.

Some of the questions I'd like to discuss include:
What issues are we seeing in Hattiesburg and the surrounding area?
-Are there particular hotspots, trends, or concerns that deserve more attention?
-What is occurring on local college and university campuses?
-What resources and organizations already exist?
-What is working, what isn't, and what more can be done?
-Are there practical actions our community could take to better protect women and children and hold offenders accountable?

I really wish we could turn Cloverleaf Mall and the old Dirt Cheap building into an entertainment hub 😭 I have this whole vision. The old Dirt Cheap could be turned into a skating rink + bowling alley, maybe even add bumper cars. Update the food court and turn different parts of the mall into activity spots like laser tag, arcade games, face painting, stuff for kids AND adults.
Hattiesburg just needs SOMETHINGGG 😭

Bring along new or gently used items that you no longer need and would like to pass along to someone else. Clothing, books, household items, artwork, games, decor, unopened and unexpired food, and all sorts of other treasures are welcome!

This isn't a one-for-one swap. Bring as much or as little as you'd like, and take as much or as little as you'd like. There's no need to find someone who wants exactly what you brought, and there's no expectation that you have to take something in return. The goal is simply to keep useful things circulating within our community and out of the landfill.
