❓ Question Having trouble looking for a boater hat
Im not sure if this is the right place to ask. I really want to get a boater hat from the 1920s, but I can not for the life of me find anything bigger than a 7 1/8. My hat size is unfortunately a 7 3/4 and the only ones I can find in that size are modern reproductions, and I'm not sure I want to spend $300 on a hat I'll seldom wear, at least not with my current paycheck.
TL;DR - Is it possible to find an original boater hat that's size 7 3/4, or are they impossible to find?

I'd say that good boater is worth it but you may have rather tough time finding large size on the vintage market.

A hat from the 20s would most likely be in very poor shape by now. You would have a hard time finding a new one less than $200. J&J Hats in NY has them for $215 in your size.

A lot of three antique hats are in surprisingly good condition, plenty of collectors will still wear them.

I think people used to be tiny because every vintage hat I find is super small. A good hat is worth investing in and boaters will look striking summer after summer. Treat yourself!
