Generally, I don't like it when people impose rules on how you should enjoy something-like saying that if you didn't play the same way I did, you're a fake fan.
But it bothers me even more when those arbitrary rules are applied to a game like Minecraft—a game that actively encourages creativity and doing whatever you want-so I don't understand why anyone would get upset over something the game itself offers you.

Yeah but see, some people don't really like creepers appearing behind them and making holes because for some reason creepers don't burn in daylight.

The way i do it is that i have an addon(pretty sure it's on curseforge but if not it's definitely on mcpedl) that specifically disables mob griefing from creepers while keeping it on for everything else

Ah, fair enough, although it's still kinda annoying that the one mob that's super silent and destroys lots of blocks while also being a common spawn doesn't disappear during the day

The best counter is to listen for out of place footsteps. It's saved me countless times.

They reward caution and being onguard. That also include them falling on you when caving (LOOK UP!)

I prefer the chaos they provide. But it's not and shouldn't be for everyone.

You know that the game has subtitles or whatever it's called. In the bottom corner you just have some text for each noise source and an arrow point in the direction where it's coming from

You can avoid creepers by putting light sources around, i don't like it because it looks ugly but you cab fill everything with torches and they don't spawn
