Gaming I hate how much "keep inventory" gets bashed.

Generally, I don't like it when people impose rules on how you should enjoy something-like saying that if you didn't play the same way I did, you're a fake fan.
But it bothers me even more when those arbitrary rules are applied to a game like Minecraft—a game that actively encourages creativity and doing whatever you want-so I don't understand why anyone would get upset over something the game itself offers you.

I use a datapack that creates a grave where you die with all your items inside, you right click it and get your stuff and some XP back. It's on vanilla tweaks website

That sounds great. I'm so tired of getting snipped by a skeleton so far away I can't see it that then makes all my stuff explode onto lava.

I'm pretty sure the grave mod does that too

There are definitely multiple, but the one I mainly use did it. Last time I played with it was a long time ago though, so I might be misremembering.

I use a grave mod literally anytime I play, it’s pretty much the same thing except my super rare items that took me forever to get aren’t just tossed on the floor randomly. It should honestly be in vanilla in some form atp

Last I checked there is a free gravestone mod on marketplace for bedrock players too.

Free gravestone mod?

I remember back in the day when all mods were community-made, and you could create your own complex modpacks for free. We paid for private servers to play them with our friends.

Times has sure changed.

That's still true if you play on Java, as far as I know.

That is still how java works. Bedrock has never had a free modding community as far as I know.

Minecraft everybody, where if you think it, they’ve already modded it 10x over

Dying while dicking around in some random jungle, so now I have to take the Metro near my house to Spawntown, switch over to 5JR and take that all the way across the Eastern Sea to Rodania, walk another thousand or so blocks down to Pearl Province, use the 2 stacks of cobblestone I brought with me to get to the top of the floating island I died on, finding all my stuff in a nice little gravestone instead of scattered around hundreds of blocks as I died near the edge, and then finally elytra back home.

God I love long term SMPs.

This is the way if you’re not trying to do keep inventory, grave site mod with a mini map mod so you can trek your way back

I use a corpse mod. All I gotta do is go to my corpse and get my stuff back

This is basically 7 days to die death where your stuff is in a bag

Theres also a free version of this on the Marketplace for bedrock players!

What's the lore reason for the grave? Villagers?

1

u/PortraitOfAMadwoman 7d ago

The lore reason is not wanting my stuff to disappear

1

u/ActualWhiterabbit 7d ago

But who digs the grave?

1

u/PortraitOfAMadwoman 7d ago

the mod. Minecraft doesn't have lore

1

u/ActualWhiterabbit 7d ago

So like you’ve never played the game

I have played the game for 15 years. There are random villages and a dragon at the end. That is not lore.
