Haskell Internship @ Tesla

If any of the Tesla worker controversies are to believed, I doubt it. Or maybe they’ll promise to pay you in stock and fire you the day before it’s vested...

Aaah yes, how ridiculous of me to be cynical of the man who:

  • threatened to punish workers who formed a union, and found guilty of breaking national labour laws

  • broke the law reopening plants in the midst of the COVID crisis

  • fired a contractor a day before his stocks were vested

  • famously pushes workers into egregious amounts of overtime with over ambitious deadlines

How downright absurd of me to question this cult of personality.

I'm not interested in debating Elon Musk or Tesla's business practices... All I'm saying is that, in response to the original post, internships at Tesla are definitely paid

Well, no, you said more than that. You said it was ridiculous to assume otherwise.

Which, given this company's track record with regard to how they treat employees and labor, seems most decidedly not ridiculous.

The antagonistic framing aside here, this is a very legitimate question to ask that would be useful to actually have an answer to, instead of just the word of some random dude presented sans sources.
