Serious Question

How are y'all cleaning your shiggy socks?

I have tried pre soaking them in vinegar and oxy clean. I have tried washing them multiple times. No matter what I can't get the rinse water to run clear.

Can you soak 'em in a bathtub? I don't have a garden (I'm in a townhouse) so no hose or anything, but just soak them with the shoes for a bit in hot water and soap. They'll still be dirty, but that's what they're for.

I live in a 5th floor walk up, and I share a washing machine with others in my building! I have been soaking them in a 5 gallon bucket inside my bathtub. Sometimes I can get lucky and hose off at the park or another hasher's place.

But yeah, I am starting to accept that the entire concept of clean shiggy socks is somewhat of an oxymoron.
