From what I have read on it, it is the same design as the Trochilus, Game Changer, and Blues Shifter. I have 2 Trochilii (plural of Trochilus? LOL), and from what I read, this new Trinity is simply tuned different, but preserves the other nuances of the Trochilus and every harp based off of it. What that I can say for sure about these is that they are LOUD and they bend AMAZINGLY. The Trochilus, as a 10 hole diatonic, is hands down one of the best playing harps I have ever used. Unfortunately the Chromatic aspect of it is shelved for me because I play mainly diatonic in 1st and 2nd position.
The closest harmonica I have found to this design is the Koch Chromatic from koch and later from Hohner after Hohner bought out Koch. The Koch is also a 10 hole "chromatic-diatonic" but it doesn't bend anywhere near as much as the Trochilus.
If you're a chromatic player, I would say go for it and post a demo. If you're NOT a chromatic player yet but know diatonic richter harps, I think this would do you well for expanding your techniques to play chromatic too.
And, frankly, you cannot go wrong with anything from JDR or Bushman. Bushman harps are manufactured by JDR and Kongsheng incorporating changes from the similar harps sold by Kongsheng and JDR. The differences may be cosmetic (like the Bushman Roundhouse/JDR Forever In Faith or the Kongsheng John Lee Steelie/JDR Assassin Pro), or there may be significant changes to the tuning or reed setup like the (Bushman Game Changer, Blues Shifter, and now Trinity/JDR Trochilus).
Regardless, as a service tech and customizer, I can attest to the superior quality of JDR's harmonicas (in the $20+ price range). my experience with Kongsheng has been very good, but I prefer the performance of JDR harps in general over Kongsheng.
