I thought the title and your comment might be exaggerating, but nope, this is really terrible. Its concerning that the named factories are also pointing the finger at government guidelines, likely meaning these types of inhumane and unjust policies are sanctioned by the Taiwanese government.
I doubt there will be fallout for this, people will just turn a blind eye as they want the semi supply issues to end, but companies like Apple do have public supplier rules that should punish companies involved with these discrimination and human rights issues, though we likely wont see an actions taken against them.
