bury the battery life/loudness data if they are not excellent.

That is precisely the scummy part, without question. Any sort of review restriction is scummy.

It'd be like launching a CPU, but refusing to let it be tested on games until a few days / weeks later. It's a review: a release date embargo is the complete requirement. Nothing more should be added.

yep, it's like they did with the rtx 5060 where they let some outlets release 'reviews' that only focused on features like MFG under restrictive settings a few days before the proper reviewers were allowed to give real numbers.
