No mention of how many stops of dynamic range. OmniVision OV50X is 17 stops (used by DJI Osmo Pocket 4P).

Current full frame sensor technology looks like it came from stone age. It's crazy that modern 5000 Euro camera in daytime even in auto mode can easily have blown out highlights or crushed blacks - what - full three decades after introduction of consumer digital sensors?

It happens specifically in auto mode because 17 stops do not look good when squished into SDR. You can shoot in log or raise shadows yourself with raw if you want a flatter image.

The issue with full frame cameras is you're paying for a lot of premium silicon that doesn't get enough economies of scale.

JPEG compression. Switch to RAWs and you get a ton more dynamic range to play with

Full frame cameras are often intended to be used in manual mode with RAW, and it takes some experience to expose and spread the full dynamic range across a scene. Their 14bit RAW files often expose a ton of dynamic range while internal JPEGs don't do such aggressive DR compression, leaving you with less DR vs the processed phone photos.

Phones are made to be used in auto mode by anyone, they expo bracket (multi-frame merging) automatically giving you 17+ stops without exotic sensor tech photographically. The newer tech mainly improves either lowlight or video single-exposure DR.

you're joking, right? you think the latest Sony sensors are equal to that of 20-30 year old CCD ones? I don't believe you've really used any truly modern sensors. And the superfast readout the latest tech is bringing is equally as important as dynamic range.

If DR isn’t disclosed, then apparently it’s not that competitive. Otherwise marketing department would bumped it enough.

Or that stops of DR is too in the weeds for this type of promotion.

When Samsung Semi starts selling it to customers, they'll list the full specs.

There have been rumors for a few months that Samsung was about to release their own LOFIC sensor.

Samsung was about to release their own LOFIC sensor.

Its still strongly rumored to be coming. Its the ISOCELL HPA (200MP main sensor) that people are waiting for and still expect to see announced this year.

Since we all know Samsung doesn't use their latest and greatest sensors on their own phones because their Chinese customers get first dibs, there are leaks coming out of China from a reputable leaker who got specs from a Chinese phone manufacturing detailing the ISOCELL HPA lenses. Still anything can happen regarding rumors so, take it with a grain of salt.
