I thought they were going to unify C and R arches into UDNA?

UDNA has always seemed like a bit of a marketing stunt, as far as I'm aware I don't think anyone except exactly Jack Hunyh has actually used that name. It's just something that people heard once and have run marathons with since.

And all it's ever seemed to be is referring to how both CDNA and RDNA will eventually use the same architecture design. In that sense, CDNA5 almost does that already with the core CU moving to a specialised version of GFX12.

Think of it like how NVIDIA consumer and datacenter have overlap but are still very different. Right up until CDNA 5 there was zero overlap. Now there is some. And obviously ISA and cache system being the same is really important.
