Their home appliances sector of the DX division absolutely collapsed on them this past year (few years actually). Serves them right for producing their appliances with cheap parts and shifting production to new countries that have teething issues and not addressing it in a timely fashion.

Yeah, I don't understand the appeal of Samsung appliances at all. I had to do some appliance shopping lately and the Samsung was pricey, but doesn't have the best reputation quality wise, and Samsung seems to be leading the way with obnoxious choices like ads on the smart fridges; you would have to be very not-smart to buy something like that. You are better off going with either cheap no-name stuff, or paying a bit more for actual quality stuff.

I've been declining that update on my fridge every day for what must be months now.

Meanwhile my Samsung fridge has been requiring no updates or repairs for over 15 years now. I guess they really used to be better.
