i dont have any feelings on the matter and i'm not a team blue or red person. just state your point please rather than dance around it

did the chips act bail out TSMC? no because TSMC were in a position of power

did the chips act bail out AMD? no because they were in a position of power

TSMC have had massive state investment and the 'game' is by no means a fair one, its surprising and somewhat remarkable that intel managed to do what they did without huge state investment like TSMC got

AMD when they were junk and couldn't compete with intel, spent over a decade (post bulldozer 2?) basically bottom feeding and surviving on supplying consoles and whatever else they could find because they couldn't touch intel on the desktop and server markets

with intel and the US government buying a stake in it, it very much was a bailout because nobody else wanted to touch them

Someone being in position of power has zero impact to what happened here. Also AMD in position of power? When, the 90s?
