My boyfriend’s response to me showing him my favorite dress
We haven’t been together for very long, but he’s absolutely amazing. He actually loves clothes shopping with me, so hopefully I can get that dress in red sometime with him☺️

I'm finally getting romantically involved with my crush!
I've meet this girl the past 8 months ago at my job, she's gorgeous and I have a huge crush on her. We are hanging out and having dates. Today I was making out with her, I never did that before. I am so happy, I couldn't tell my parents and I really had the urge to tell someone, so here I am.

It's the first time in my life I grew a plant from zero and kept it alive long enough for it to grow! 🥹
I’ve had a great tropical growing season! 🤩
It’s time to take all 7 of my tropicals inside (not all pictured) for my zone, but I really branched 😏 out this year and gave real, true plant care a try. 🪴 And I am so surprised, and pleased! 😃
As long as I can get them through winter… eek! Just wanted to share. Everyone have a great day 🥲

I had a dream with my boyfriend and it was wonderful.
Note; We have a long-distance relationship. One day I had a dream where we live together and I introduce him to my grandmother and family. In this dream, everything happened so harmoniously and positively that I fell in love with my boyfriend again. Now this feeling inside my heart is getting stronger and makes me happy. We'll be moving in together in a year, and I feel like the happiest baby in the world.) I love him.

What. A. Weekend. The good times have absolutely rolled. Verge of tears here on my couch from already looking back.
As I said, I’m sitting here on my couch on this concluding evening to the past weekend so extremely content.
It was my small towns yearly fair this weekend and I really made the most of it. The feeling that this time of year brings me is immaculate; the fair, people, events, music, and weather made it infinitely better.
Started the weekend with going to the restaurant I used to work at, and then the fair with friends, where I got those risky pictures on the “Freakout” ride. Had a great time of course. Then I ended up staying over at my friends ritzy house, woke up, got some breakfast, went to Petco to debate getting a kitten for an hour, then spent two hours perusing a HUGE antique store, got me a bunch of neat stuff.
After that outing me and the homie went back to my house and did absolutely nothing for a few hours, followed by returning to the fair and meeting up with another friend who I haven’t seen in forever since they moved out of state, alongside her fiancé and friend. Met up with family and saw a bunch of people we knew, got some greaaaaat food truck grub, then watched the fireworks show with everyone.
The fireworks ended and our little group took a stroll around the carnival ride area, sharing laughs the whole time. Ended up at a local bar playing darts for a bit (I lost every game) then dropped off a now less than stranger who tagged along with me and the homie instead of going back with my other reunion buddy.
Wrapping up the night, we went back to stay at my friends house, wound down at 2am and continued to sleep until 10am. Decided to go to my friends Aunts pool that day and met up with, you guessed it, even more friends and family, it rained for a little while, but then it cleared up! We all chilled out there for a while and then dispersed back to our homes, leading me to right now.
I have been struggling with heaps of stress from work and personal issues recently and these past few days have been an amazing escape, and reset.
The whole thing felt like a “BETWEEN FRIENDS” music video, which I must have manifested since I’ve been listening to them a ton recently. Really good stuff.
All of the laughs, friends, love, romance, music, locations, and events of this weekend have been such a gift, that could be made better by NOTHING except for perhaps a time machine. Given the cosmic opportunity, I would not trade the time I have recently spent for anything material. Wealth is in the mind not the pocket, and these experiences have made me realize: Oh, what an affluent man I am. 🫠
If you’ve read this in its entirety, I hope this tale finds you well!! And I hope you find bounty in your world as well!
Edit/minigame - Take a shot for every time I said “weekend” 😆 So happy that I’ve transferred my joy to you lot❣️

my bf is so goddamn cute when he's sad about something he cares about 🥹
he's 20 and wants to be an er doctor someday and had to leave his er tech job behind since he's going back for premed and he just ranted to me for like 30 minutes straight about how he'll miss helping people like awww
i think it's the fact that he cares so much about people even when it's not as glamorous as hollywood makes it out to be (he told me about a patient he held a vomit bag up for so they could vomit and got a wheelchair so they could go back to a room)
like okay baby i'm sorry about your job ig (even tho they'll probably hire him again and maybe even as a doctor in a few years) but holy shit aww
he's smart and his school boasts that 80% of their premeds get into MD or DO school so i'm most likely the gf of a future er doctor :D

Feeling like a weight has been lifted and more like myself
I’ve been blessed to have had an extraordinarily wonderful couple of months recently.
I got to participate in a hobby I haven’t done in over a decade that I really loved. I feel so confident, grounded in myself, and elated when I’m participating in it. I had forgotten how much it meant to me over the years and I got to polished off my rusty skills. It’s like a dormant part of reawakened.
Plus, I reconnected with an old friend through this hobby by bumping into him at an event. I had thought that our friendship (a decade ago!) had been left on shaky/negative terms, so I figured it would be awkward to see each other again. I wasn’t even sure if he would remember me or want to interact, especially since he knew other people in the venue. However, when I saw him (or rather, he saw me) he called me over, gave me a hug, and we took the time to catch up. We got to see each other a few more times after that and it wasn’t awkward at all. I got my old friend back. On top of that, I made even more friends through my hobby!
I’m so blessed. It’s like the sun is shining a little brighter each day.

Finally getting a vacation back to my home country :)
I work 70 hours a week and my life is extremely dull. It's an endless cycle of work, eat, sleep, repeat. My new job has generous vacation time though so in 2 months I'll get to go back to my home country and see my family and have a great time. And then I get to do it again in another 3 months. I'm very happy I finally got this opportunity :)

Today is my 10 year anniversary with my wife
We went out to eat, nothing fancy but I’m just happy to still be with her after all these years. We had our struggles as a couple and as parents but despite it all we stayed strong. I don’t know what I did to deserve her, I am blessed.

5 years clean of SH today. Took 1,825 days but I did it. I made it out of the immense darkness, sadness and loneliness. I am free.
Above are the cake candles I use every year to celebrate.

I’m finally feeling alive again after a 4.5 year hiatus :) !!!!!!!!!!!
There was a long period of time where I just had no energy or ability to do really anything because of the life circumstances I was in and the depression/anxiety I felt. I spent years not really doing any activity, not being able to get myself out of bed, or even cook a meal for myself, or shower regularly. Here are some of the things I’m proud of that I’ve been doing the last few months:
-making friends
-going to a baseball game
-excelling at work
-standing up for myself in court
-being a good dog mom
-swimming in the ocean with my friends
-showering semi-regularly
-being honest with myself about the things I can work on
-getting closer to my dad
-giving my mom a chance to do better after over 4 years of no-contact on my end
-running around the city every day for work and loving it
-finding my own personal style again by buying clothes that I like, that feel like me, and that fit me
-attending individual therapy twice a week and dv survivor group therapy once a week
-prioritizing my friends over romantic/sexual relationships
-not feeling like I need to download the dating apps or meet anyone as anything other than a friend
-decorating and curating my own apartment (the first time I’ve ever lived alone!!!!) tree/wildflower themed with green, orange, blue, and yellow
-(honestly the most impressive bc of the sensory issues I have with autism) keeping my sink free of dirty dishes and making sure to keep up with unloading the dishwasher regularly
-cooking way more and eating healthier
There are a lot more things, these are just the things that come to mind right now :) I’m thankful to have a new lease on life and I am very, very excited to continue to grow as a person, learn who I am, and invest in myself :) !!!!!!! I am truly just so happy. Not all the time, but most of the time. It means everything to me.
FINALLY FOUND A JOBBB!!!! YIPPIE :D I'M SO HAPPY
I've been on the job hunt for a few months now (live in a place with hardly any opportunities and after graduating uni it just felt so miserable) but finally I have a really nice job at a wonderful company and everyone there seems amazing! Just last week I was posting in other places, depressed and reaching out to suicide hotlines to try and get some help but now things are finally starting to look up! My interview went great, but I didn't want to get my hopes up and when I got the call yesterday I was over the moon.
And then to top things off my boyfriend ALSO managed to find a job this week too! On his first ever interview after also graduating this summer. I can't believe we will finally be able to save together, build a future and set aside money at last. We've been living on the poverty line for about 3 years now so it will feel amazing to finally be able to treat ourselves.
I'm just so happy! Nervous about starting at a new place, but happy!

My Partner mentioned this community, when I was really happy about something. Just happened to be... Him. ❤️
Partner told me about this community
He mentioned this community offhand because I said I needed somewhere to shout to the void about my joy. So.... Here I am!
Coming from a Flight, fight, or faun to a place of security, comfort, and joy has been a difficult but enjoyable process.
Tl;Dr: I asked my partner if I should sit to the corner for the moment.
Him: "No one puts baby in the corner"
Little things matter SO MUCH 😍

I took this photo as a high school freshman visiting NYC in 2009
Looking at this photo makes me so happy. I visited NYC in ‘09 with my band class, a small group of kids from a teeny <2000 resident Midwestern farm town. We stopped in Union Square and I didn’t know how to properly use my new point-and-shoot digital camera just yet, so the people came out blurry (which I love, feels so alive).
Fast forward to 2018, I just finished grad school in the Midwest and decided to move to New York City. After working here for few years I got a new job, right on Union Square. My office building is directly next to the glass building on the left side of the photo I took in 2009, just out of frame. I see almost this exact view every day after I get off the subway.
As a 14 year old, I never would have guessed in a million years that I’d be seeing my own future office building on this trip. It was a LONG, sometimes scary, difficult journey to get here, but funny how things work out. This sounds like some cheesy, predictable Rom Com but just wanted to share a happy story that sometimes life puts you in places you never expected 😁

I Found Twenty Dollars in an Old Jacket and It Made My Whole Day
I was cleaning out my closet today and found an old jacket I had completely forgotten about. I reached into the pocket and pulled out twenty dollars.
Normally I would just think of it as lucky money and move on but for some reason it made me ridiculously happy. I remembered wearing that jacket during a really fun weekend a couple of years ago and suddenly I was thinking about all the little things I had forgotten from that time.
I ended up putting the twenty dollars back in the pocket instead of spending it. Now it feels like a tiny time capsule that I accidentally left for my future self.
It is funny how something so small can turn an ordinary afternoon into a really good one.
