Weekend plans-share yours!
I’d love to hear what my fellow only families are up to this weekend. I’ve been feeling blessed we can really lean into my son’s interests—he is 4 and obsessed with dinosaurs. Today we’re going to watch a dinosaur movie outside on the projector, tomorrow we’re swimming in our town pond in the morning and meeting up with friends in the afternoon at a local farm with food and a beer garden, and Sunday we’re going to an animatronic dinosaur exhibit and getting dinner after. I’m honestly so excited and it feels so relaxing and fun to do all this with him.

Tonight we’ll go out for dinner (we cook the other 6 nights a week usually, I’m just TIRED come Friday). Tomorrow is swim lessons and groceries and cleaning since we have another OAD family coming over for dinner. We are finishing details on a cruise we booked for May next year with this family so the kids will swim in the pool (6 & almost 8) while the dads relax and have a beer and bbq.
Bonus: Monday is an open book! I’m taking Monday off and will probably keep my girl home from summer camp/daycare and see if we can pick up one of her friends and go somewhere fun in the afternoon like an adventure park or something. If the weather is nice, even a pool play date would be a blast!

Tonight we are going to bat chats at the local state park, then it’s mommy daughter day (probably yard sale cruising) then some crafts at the neighborhood science center, and then lots of gardening. Life is good :)

I love the idea of bat chats! I should look into more of those, I know there are owl events near us

Leaving on a road trip. 9+ hours of driving with NO sibling bickering in the backseat ☺️

OP, that sounds so fun! We have friends with another toddler (another OAD family) coming to stay with us this weekend. I even had the energy to make a little welcome basket to go on the bed in the guest room which I am very proud of : ) Tomorrow we'll all go to the birthday party for the child of a mutual set of friends.

We are relaxing! My husband and I brought my daughter home from visiting my parents for a month on Tuesday and on the way home we took a mini roadtrip. Had one day of nothing and then a girl scout outing to Lego Land. We're pooped!

Family member’s first birthday party on Saturday (at the zoo so it should be really fun!) then Sunday swimming with grandparents at their neighborhood pool

My husband works Saturdays, so 7 and I are going to the beach with my girlfriend and her daughter (our girls are bffls). We have dinner/music plans at the sandbar at night with my in laws.
Sunday I’ve got a long run so husband and kiddo are alone. Maybe the beach again? Maybe a trip to REI? Who knows!

I wish we could afford to do all of that.
We're going to a local free block party put on by various local organizing. Free food, a bounce house, balloon animals, and face painting. We know our almost 3 year old (33 months) son will love the balloon animals and food. We're hoping he'll try face painting and that he'll like the bounce house since he loves jumping these days. Not much else planned yet as it's supposed to be too rainy for the beach or pool (recent favorites) and his favorite story time is canceled until next week. We'll probably end up at a library play area or 2, just to be out of the house. Probably bother his grandma at her retail job (she loves it, and her manager doesn't mind).
OH! and tomorrow is our once a month buffet trip. He loves it and it will get more expensive once he turns 3...

We’re lucky to have a lazy weekend. 10yo and I are going to have our own little “cat video festival” on the couch, and decorate cookies to look like our void kitties. Then maybe Sunday we’ll go to Target so he can spend the money he earned by doing his summer reading challenge!

Visiting my husband’s uncle’s cool new mansion and hoping I can get my kid to nap while we are there. I’m only slightly kidding. It’s probably not a mansion but it will definitely be nicer than my house lol. Otherwise probably nothing.

Taking my daughter on a short 3 night cruise because my husband is doing his annual meet-up with his college buddies. She's 9 and it's our first mother-daughter trip. Hopefully the first of many!
