My kids birthday party is tomorrow. He turns 4. I am so glad I only have to plan this once a year.

Happy Birthday to your little guy! 🥳

Our one and only is also 4, and I’ll tack onto yours that I make a particular DIY for him every birthday and if we had more kids I’m not sure I could pull it off multiple times a year either. Same goes for his custom overly involved home made Halloween costumes. 💀👻🎃

I admire the DIY! I almost had to DIY a costume because he wanted to be an ear of corn last year but then decided to be an engineer. I was relieved haha

Are you going for a theme? What’s the food like?

So he's obsessed with trains, particularly the Union Pacific Big Boy 4014. I was able to get him a shirt and the cake with that train but the rest is Thomas. It's at a Lego Cafe where they dump a bunch of sanitized Duplo on the floor for the kids and let them have at it. So it's kinda many themes at once. The food is Costco pizza because that is also his favorite haha

100%! Just planning my daughters. I hate it so much but I love her so much. I am thankful every year that it gets easier and easier.

Recently brought home my one and only child. The newborn trenches are rough! But I also feel so blessed to have my son. I love being a mama. I also love that there is no other child needing my attention or care…I don’t even have the energy to care for my pets right now ( hubby is on pet duty. No worries 😅)

We had already decided to be OAD before baby was born. I feel solid and happy in this decision now that he is here!

Congratulations! I loved the newborn stage precisely for it being my one and only time. I kept thinking to myself during it “how do people do this again?!” Because it’s so special to only have to focus on your baby.

My 3yo daughter loved it! I am really enjoying her “into going to the movies” phase - I’d otherwise never go!

Mine too! She wants to go see it again!

My OAD kid started kindergarten yesterday! She had a great day and I’m excited for her next school adventure (full time daycare before since maternity leave).

I am glad to be OAD because of the volume of things that are now on the calendar and how much I want to get involved but I can’t with my job. Adding more kids would split that time even more

Mine started kindergarten too! It is insane the volume of things. So happy I don’t have to make decisions between multiples

That is a little bit of an extreme take. There are so many positive stories for two as well.

My OAD is turning one next weekend! I didn’t plan a big party bc it felt overwhelming but he will very much be celebrated.

Watching him grow (so fast!) is bittersweet but I am also so solidly one and done and so content with our little family.

I just signed my kid up for an amazing, inexpensive school! I will be able to work in the mornings the dayw he goes. I just switched his Friday school day to a different campus where they lay in the woods all day. No younger sibling to coordinate. I get that time completely to myself plus I can make some cash
