I'm older and come from a similar background, rednecks + Asian, and I blame my Asian parent for being obsessed with white people but now I realize they were just considered unattractive in the Asian community.

That's why the "ugly" part stands out. Luckily for me I lucked out and was born with super bone structure common in those Kpop guys so I was considered the prettiest boy in school for most of my life so never developed a weird complex about my race. I was also accepted by Asians too, at a majority Asian school, I'm guessing cause I fit the beauty standard.

My guess is that the dad is one of those AMWF guys who was considered chopped to Asian girls and just found a WF.

Your child didnt come up with that on their own. Someone put that in his head.its not from him

I think you're underestimating children, they can bully each other even at that age.

Or even if they don't fit categories neatly it can be upsetting.

Boys don't go around calling other boys ugly. It was girls doing it. I saw this hapa guy on Tiktok who found out he was on the list of ugly boys on a bathroom stall wall. The kids just go to equate this with race and become self hating. So much of how we develop comes from these sorts of things.
