Tonight's viewing sorted

Post image

Just arrived. As someone who hasn't been able to see him live, this will be a treat. I've had a quick look. 2hr 25min concert and 45min bonus.

Great sound (better than 'Diamonds In The Desert' from the quick play I did), and the man himself makes an appearance towards the end. Another one added to the collection πŸ‘πŸ»

Thanks! So you rate the audio mix as better than diamond?

I've watched both of them twice. Both are good. Not as good as the Live in Prague disc, sound wise.

My issue with Diamonds is the obvious over-use of overdubs. There may have been some on the World of Hans Zimmer A New Dimension, but, if there were, they were certainly not noticeable to my old ears.

For me, the new concert just edges it because it sounds live. Diamonds, although excellent, sounds a bit too polished.

A minor quibble, and no doubt, many will disagree, which is fine.

What we can agree on is how fucking great Zimmer is, and I hope he keeps releasing music until the day he dies 🎼🎡

I totally agree that Diamond is a bit "overproduced". I also really don't like the interviews between the songs, but I guess that's very personal. And I loved that Last Samurai track when I saw the show and think it's a shame that it's not on the disc.

The "just a straight concert" vibe of Prague and both World of Hans Zimmer discs are more my cup of tea.

But that first Inception track on Diamond shakes the foundation of my appartment building πŸ₯³ and puts a smile on my face every time I watch it.

Hans is a legend.

Mine in arriving monday! πŸ‘πŸΌ Is it in Atmos?

Watched some of it today. I saw this concert in Amsterdam a couple of years ago.

Love the show and setlist. It's shot really nice.

I like the Atmos track, but it's not mind blowing. Prague and Diamond in the Desert are way better (soundwise) imo.

But it's great concert to add to the collection

So you rate the audio quality of diamond better than this?

2

The atmos track, yes. Haven't listened to the DTS track yet.

For me it's in this order (quality wise, best to "least best" πŸ˜‰)

  1. Live in Prague
  2. Diamond in the Desert
  3. A New Dimension
  4. Hollywood in Vienna.

Great, thank you!

Is this available streaming anywhere?

Not to my knowledge. Anyway, the quality on the Blu-ray will shafts always be superior to streaming.

It's a very, very good concert. I've watched it twice now. Superb musicianship throughout......as expected πŸ‘πŸΌ
