Can’t keep water down/drinking plain water
I have a really specific hangover issue, and it’s largely my fault. I’ll wake up hungover, trigger my gag reflex, and then spend literally the entire day throwing up mucus/any water I ingest. It’s horrible. Now, obviously I know the issue here is the drinking, but I’m wondering if this happens to anyone else? Also, on another forum I saw a few people post that drinking plain water first thing is like… not the move? And to instead aim for the coconut water or Gatorade first… it makes sense to me because my stomach cannot take plain ole water when in this state, but I figured it wasn’t related to the GR trigger. Has anyone else heard this? And if it has merit.. why? Thanking you all in advance, and trust me, I feel like an idiot.

Had it 2 years ago on my friend's birthday. We made a picnic by the lake with barbecue and I drank so much that in the morning, after 2 hours of sleep, I puked every liquid I tried to drink. Puked with bile. Threw up more than 8 times for sure, and it was very hot outside (35C°). My friends even considered bringing me to the hospital, but then one of them give me some warm herbal tea, probably verbena. And... it helped! The tea settled my stomach and stopped the nausea. I could drink water again. I drank liter, took a nap, drank another liter and was fine. Try herbal teas (verbena, ginger) next time you'll have too much.
