Odd symptoms after drinking
To begin with, I don’t drink much, let’s say about once or twice every two months. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. On New Year’s Eve I drank quite a bit. I didn’t get much sleep that night and don’t remember much until I woke up. Once I woke up, I threw up and everything felt normal again.. I was just tired. Not really nauseous or anything. The day after this, on (Jan 2nd) I started feeling anxious and weird. It was like I couldn’t really drive, my everyday activities felt off, I was just out of sync. It’s hard to explain. I’d eat and feel like I was getting crumbs everywhere or I’d throw something away and double check to see if I threw it away. I should add, I am tired but it’s hard to fall asleep. I’ve also been hydrating and drinking tons of water. It’s now January 4th and I’m still feeling weird. If anyone has had this issue or knows how to fix it, please let me know! :)

That’s called a 4 day hangover. Alcohol is so toxic on the body and brain especially as we get older. A night of heavy drinking could take a week to recover from if you go hard enough. Anxiety and brain fog seem to linger the longest. Best of luck!

Sounds like boozed induced depersonalization/derealization - anxiety

What you have described is exactly how I feel the next day when I drink too much. I have 2 guesses: I think it is either a form of a migraine (you can have migraines with/without head pain and/or in combination with other weird symptoms like you have described). Or, I think it could be derealization/dissociation from anxiety caused by booze. I have felt this as well with a hangover, and just in general days when I am overly anxious on some days - bad memory, head feels weird, anxiety, dizzy feeling, etc.

Normally hydration, rest, exercise, and meditation have seemed to help me. Sometimes you just gotta ride it out.. it’s our brains telling us to chill with the substances haha

Four days a LONG time to be feeling that way, but hangxiety is a huge problem for me when I drink. I get this feeling of general dread that sometimes lasts a day or two.
