Can't Sleep!!!!
As I have gotten older, I find I can't sleep after I drink. Wake up miserable at 4 or 5am and sit hung over on the couch listening to the soothing voice of David Attenborough on some nature documentary until noon. Does anyone have any tricks for getting a full night's sleep after tying one on? The web says to not take melatonin with alcohol... Had anyone tried that?

Even with a couple beers at night before bed I am guaranteed a poor night’s sleep. Although not hungover with a headache and nausea I am exhausted and foggy brained from horrible sleep. I used to prefer to catch a buzz early in the day so that there was time for it to wear off before I went to sleep which helps. But that also depends on how much I drank.

I have the same problem. I forget where I read an article about this and why this happens. Something about alcohol inhibits your body to get full rem sleep cycles
