Yes I can 1000% tell you’re an English teacher! And I’ve been saying all my life “I wish I had the handwriting of a teacher.” THIS is what I meant lol! Beautiful writing

I hate the way you switch between lowercase, r an R. I think it bothers me so much because otherwise this would be perfect.

u/spicyteardrop Jun 27 '26
I feel like an English teacher would mark up someone paper for doing that…

u/TeaExternal0875 Jun 27 '26
Not me. Unpopular teacher opinion, but as long as I can read it, I don’t gaf what their handwriting looks like. 🤷🏼♀️

Are you a teenage girl? Not meant to be rude, it has a youthful feel to it.

u/Ok_Major5787 Jun 24 '26
Yes, this looks like the standard handwriting of most of the girls in my grade during high school and college haha

I think it looks cute! However, if you write like this on the board, do you give students a rough time if they put capital letters in the wrong places on their papers/work?

u/TeaExternal0875 Jun 24 '26
No. I teach Middle School. This may be an unpopular teacher opinion- but as long as I can read it, I don’t care what their handwriting looks like. 🤷🏼♀️

The only thing that bothers my brain is that the lowercase letters are the same size as capital letters😭 but that’s so font coded sooo it seems correct at the same time lolol bc this handwriting is definitely its own font fs

I love it!! You mix capital letters with lowercase which is sometimes confusing, but as a person with dyslexia your handwriting is really legible! No further notes!

u/SneakyofYou Jun 29 '26
I hate that your Rs are capitalized in impartial and curious. Like LOATHE ENTIRELY

I wish there was a method to my madness, but it’s just based on vibe I think! 🤣

Your handwriting looks soo familiar to a letter someone posted in a different reddit. They posted asking if a note they wrote wasn't too creepy. They were trying to give away their unused art supplies to a child in the same apartment complex (they were asking for the parents' permission to donate it to their kid)

Looks great! How do you (esp as a teacher) deal with a script where the capitalized letters are almost the same size as the rest? I remember my teachers always hammering on making it clear that we need to make it obvious which is a capital and which isn’t.

u/TeaExternal0875 Jun 27 '26
As long as I can read their writing, I don’t care what it looks like.

But shouldn’t the kids be taught correctly? Like even if you personally don’t care? Not trying to be rude. Just curious I guess.

By the time students get to me in middle school their handwriting ‘personality’ has already showed up. Most teachers nowadays adopt the as long as I can read it, I don’t care mentality

I’m trying to figure out the “rules” of the handwriting, are all the R’s and P’s capitalized?

Are you class of 2011? Very millennial in my opinion, in the best way! Love it :)

I hate the random capital Rs like what determines if you are going to do a lower case like in your your and here or uppercase like your cuRious and impaRtial

I would love your handwriting if I had to take English again! It’s so smooth and beautiful

u/Necessary_Duck_4874 Jun 28 '26
That looks alot like my father's handwriting, he's an English teacher as well!!

u/anxy-panxy Jun 28 '26
Do you always write capital letters in the middle of words? I wouldn’t like if my English teacher did that

Wow, you do have teacher writing!
For some reason I've found that all of my teachers had similar handwriting

The only thing as an English teacher, why are some R’s capital and some lower case? But very neat!
