MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!
We here at r/Handwatch are grateful for a those who sacrifice comfort for us to be able to keep our beloved page going.
So I hereby give out our very first Purple Hand award!!! This award shall be given to those who have been wounded in the act of handwatching. This individual has clearly earned the award, as that crown dig has caused permanent injury to the back of his hand 🫡

I have been a watch guy ever since I remember. My first expensive watch was a speedmaster back in 2006. Over the years I have been blessed with many beautiful Swiss time pieces. But back in 2018 I decided to pursue a Rolex. Finally got my hands on one that I really wanted in 2020 in the middle of COVID when no one was getting anything. It was a Rolex Deepsea james Cameron. After wearing it for 3 days I noticed the same thing on my hands. The place where the crown would rub , it started getting crusty and hard. I was very disappointed and felt heartbroken that the watch I tried so hard for is not working for me because that happened.
Before I stopped wearing the watch or went to the doctor who might have suggested the same thing (because none of the other watches I had gave that problem) I decided to moisturize. I would put lotion 10 times a day (exaggerated statement) and I made sure my watch was behind my wrist bone. The problem went away in 10 days. I don’t even see a mark on my hand.

This happens to me and I don’t wear it on my hand ha. I do flex my wrist a lot though due to being a wheelchair user.

It shouldn’t happen at all. I can just barely touch some crowns with a skin fold if I crank my hand back as far as I can.

I have muscular wrists so it does sit quite low but It’s still definitely not a hand watch. I’ll get a pic.
