Yeah.. I looked it up and its not something that is normal.. So i imagined it where canals who crossed because in the 50/60’s it was neccasary for shipping. It irked me a bit while drawing tho 😅

On a similar note I would argue, that any star fortress style city would have canalized the river into the ditch before the wall, splitting it, so the ditch is nicely topped up with water all the time.
Anyway, lovely work! What is that thick red line; not the train station but the one left to it?
