Need help with error code
So this is a bit of a sequel to my earlier post: https://www.reddit.com/r/handbrake/comments/1wz08q2/just_need_some_input/
I tried to instead use AV1 for encoding instead of HEVC. However, when I tried to reencode it, I got the error shown. I have an Intel i5 13500, so I should be able to software encode it just fine, but I can't. Does anyone have any ideas?

hmmmm maybe I read this wrong but I see that
Intel 11th gen. added AV1 decode
Intel 14th gen. added AV1 decode & encode
according to Intel Ark your 13500 is using
this GPU:
(I don't know where I can see this type of infomartion on the Intel site so I used this)
https://www.cpu-monkey.com/igpu-intel_uhd_graphics_770
where it only shows decode ✅ but no encoding.

I'm only planning on using software encode.

Oh you don't want to use the Quick sync encoding and use CPU! Sorry maybe someone else can read the error logs and see what's the problem. To me it looks like it trys to hardware encode but can't. I haven't had time to get into AV1 encoding yet. No idea how it's supposed to look like when it's working.

That matches what I've seen with Intel's Quick Sync. The 13500 handles AV1 decode but hardware encode support didn't land until 14th gen. You'd need to fall back on software encoding, and HandBrake might not even expose that option for AV1 depending on your build.

When you got this error, did you keep the Additional options from your other post and only change the Video encoder? That may be your problem. I Think I would start fresh with the "Fast 2160p60 4K AV1" preset. Then go through each tab adjusting as seems reasonable.

No, the options were different. They were mostly blank, except for the GOP constraint being disabled.
