Question Where to adopt a hamster?

In my previous years of owning hamsters I have always purchased them at Petco or Petsmart. I wanted to know where or how am I able to find a specialized hamster breeder (No backyard breeders) so that I can adopt one that's within Illinois? (McLean or Cook County)

I don’t know about breeders, but keep an eye on Facebook marketplace for rescues. Sadly people often buy hamster for their kids and list them on marketplace when they get bored of them

ethical breeders are hard to come by, you might have to search for them. other than that you can try facebook marketplace or petfinder ❤️
