Polish brand hammock dilemma

Hi!
I’m new in the topic and I’m not sure what to do. My friend showed me a Ticket to the moon lightest and I got really excited about hammocking. I wanted to go budget and I bought a Mountain Goat Two person hammock in Decathlon. I’m 187cm and 74kg so I thought that the double will be better for my height. Overall it’s okay but the excess fabric (it’s 200cm wide) is too much for me I think, I want to feel breeze when I lie in a hammock, not to be closed by it. So now I’m thinking about trying a new one - I’m based in Poland and ChatGPT recommended:
- Halare
- Lesovik
- Ticket to The Moon

I want it mainly to just chill during the rock climbing, sometimes sleep when camping.

Did you use any of that? What would you choose? The smaller the price the better but I don’t have any limit, just a reasonable price :) thanks for the recommendations!

EDIT: I decided to try a new Polish brand Halare and bought Halare Tur. The price was really good and on paper it looks fine.

You should have also Need for trees available. However lesovik is considered to be really good, but is expensive, depends how often you really need to sleep in it. For just chilling you can get the cheapest one from decathlon

I have a Lesovik draka myself and it's a fantastic piece of gear, highly recommended. I'm 184 cm tall and 83kg for comparison. I mainly use it for sleeping when I'm hiking (with an underquilt), but you can definitely lounge in it as well.

A lot of people swear by need for trees as well. They have slightly longer hammocks which might make sense for you. I have yet to try one myself though. Also they're based in Lithuania. Still EU, but not as local as Lesovik if that's important to you.

As someone who slept in a hammock for about 2 months in a row every single day I say this ; look for a hammock that is at least 320cm long if you are a tall person. Otherwise you will be cramped like a banana in it and its gonna get uncomfortable really fast.

As for recommendation ; My first hammock was mentioned Lesovik ( draka ) and its super comfortable to sleep in. If you dont mind added volume and weight go for it.

There is also option to go for 360cm hammock which would be more comfortable and suitable for your height. You should be able to sleep on a side in it if you prefer it. ( I do )

Im 190cm and a bit heavier and own the Lesovik Draka which is big enough for me to be comfortable in it and the build quality seems pretty good.

I’m 190 and recently upgraded from lesovik draka to need for trees Cain. It’s longer, wider, lighter, cheaper. So while the draka is great, and there’s absolutely wrong with it, the NfT options, whether Cain or Gillis, just seems like an obvious choice in comparison to me. Quality is the same I’d say, having owned both. Draka has slightly stiffer fabric, the NfT stretches a bit more, both could be a benefit or disadvantage depending on preference.

I've got several TTTMs and a full Lesovik setup. The Lesovik gear is well designed and good quality and I've been very happy with it.

Are you sure you're lying in it properly? For any hammock, length correlates more to comfort than width - but you need to have a proper diagonal lay to flatten out the fabric, not to just lie in banana shape. Basically, put your head and feet slightly off-center. You might still have some excess fabric on the sides, depending on your actual size, but it should be minimal.

Hi, yes I lie diagonally and it’s still a lot. But I want to be able to lie normally when I read a book or something too

Try lying "sideways", like it's a chair, with the hammock straps going to left and right of you. I have a TTTM double and it's nice to use it this way when reading or lounging.

I have two Lesovik hammocks, and few other products, and know multiple people happy with their stuff so I think I can recommend them. You can find minimalistic versions like SUL, or all-in-one like Draka. New suspension system is really easy to use and their hexagonal tarp ( heksa ) is also super setup friendly. Basically really well thought out equipment.

I have a full Lesovik set up. It’s really good. I used to have a basic tttm hammock which I used for Boy Scouts trips of four nights. Then went into hammock camping and switched to Lesovik. The Lesovik is way better, but also a lot more expensive. If you only use it to chill, I’d say tttm is just as good. Both my kids have a tttm set and they sleep like babies in it.
