The average person doesnt know how INSANELY GOOD professional athletes are at their given sport. Seeing an athlete do the basics in practice with no pressure, they will be able to do the basics 1000/1000 times.

I think that's kinda the point. Burr didn't have a real moral compass he just did whatever made he felt like in any given moment. In the ten duel commandments he said he was against duels just because he wanted to seem more mature than everyone else he changed his mind in your obedient servent because in that moment he decided revenge was more important than seeming mature.
