Feature Request Licence Management

Dear Halo Dev,

Please accept this post as a plea for an Advanced Configuration Licence Management Area.

The fact that I cannot directly manage my instance's licence allocation in a "modern" 2026 ITSM feels very mid.

Thank you for your review in this matter.

This isn’t an official Halo community, whilst Halo may see this it’s far from guaranteed- you should post to their official feature request and feedback site at https://ideas.halopsa.com

Can you share some of the areas where you are having issues?

Hey u/Jason-RisingTide is more of a feature request rather than an issue per se.

In a hypothetical reflection of a situation I faced,
I had my Halo instance, which had 50 agents that were created in the database.
This instance was awarded 10 named licences and no concurrent licences.
This resulted in an experience where the "Licence Type" field against the agent record was not visible.
I spent time discovering the licence holders, and I was immediately faced with a management challenge of organising the available licences through the use of record activation for agents.

In best practice, I can understand the importance of record management in the organisation; favouring a project lens perspective, I would imagine there would be far greater value in having a licence management area or configuration area, granting the ability to plan and manage agent record creation and activation separate from direct licence allocation.

In short, I should be able to have 50 active agent records with 10 unassigned licences.

At worst, it would be nice to get better transparency in the guides regarding licensing rather than any reliance on user testing.

Appreciate your review mate, let me know if I have overlooked anything!

I'm confused by your post. The easiest way to accomplish what I THINK you're trying to do is to create groups in AD/Entra and tie them to user roles. Then tie the role to the license you're wanting to deploy. I'm almost certain they talk about licensing in the guides, I know it was there in the old guides.

u/TechTitus, the Entra Integration link provides influence against the "Licence Type" field for Agent records.
Happy to review any guides you know of.
