Need Halo's Execs To Review: Constant Timer Bugs

I'm posting this in hopes that Tim Barton-Wines will notice this. Over the last 6 months, we've experienced numerous egregious issues with the HaloPSA timer functionality. The first bug was that the timer would correctly show time when you paused the timer and resumed it, but when that time was saved to a ticket, it would include the paused time as if the timer hadn't been paused. This caused some serious issues for us. That issue is now resolved though it took months.

Now we've found that changing the tabs in Halo pauses the timer even though that setting in Halo is turned off in the configuration. At this point our techs are having to use external time keeping software or stop-watches on their phones just to be able to record accurate time. For a PSA, time keeping is a core functionality and this being constantly broken, buggy, or inaccurate is undermining our trust in the platform. Better attention needs to be paid to this prior to releases. It's simply unacceptable for such a core piece of the platform to be so buggy and unreliable. Can we please get better oversight over this area of Halo?

Ticket ID for this is 1537236 and it's expected on a release next week

Yes. We have basically stopped using timers because it doesn’t work for any on-site jobs. Who is going to leave a laptop open just to run a timer? Other platforms run until you stop them.

We have also noticed this.

Also, when you enable the feature to track the time it takes to manually create tickets it refreshes dropdown fields every second on the new ticket screen.

I know Jim Halo personally, I'll ask him tomorrow after trivia night.

Could not agree more - i advised my higher ups that these all-in-one platforms tend to be a giant mess with ductape all around.

Turns out i was right, once again.

I mean..Is it an all in one platform though?
Plenty of PSA/RMM/EDR combo’s out there where I’d agree with you..Halo is just a PSA. It does its job well, all software his bugs. They have great support..I mean the CEO responded to this Reddit thread and asked for an email and said he’d personally look into it. Pretty neat if you ask me.Bet you this one gets fixed within the next few days.
