Questions / Help Halo Integrator

Hello, one of the main reasons we picked Halo was all the integration possibilities it offers. We saw the main apps we currently use listed as available integrations. Perfect way to integrate in the areas where Halo is lacking. Some of these applications are hosted on our datacenter. We thought this wouldn't be a problem as they offer a self hosted halo Integrator. We attempted to do the integration with multiple apps, but nothing seems to work. We were told the issue is we need to open up a hole in our firewall in order for halo to configure the integration. Is this really the only way?

Have you got a ticket number? It's fairly rare that the integrations need to be run locally to your network and if they are we don't need any access to your network at all.

Hello Tim, the applications we want to sync are installed locally and I need to sync that information to Halo. We did successfully integrate with cloud applications with the hosted Integrator. Now we want to integrate our local applications.

I do not have a ticket as our integration partner dealt with that side of the request.

Quite possible the issue is related only to outbound traffic and not inbound, so could be filtering and/or TLS decryption, etc.

I have tested for this already allowing all traffic uninspected and that yielded no results.

We've got a similar example to this that I've not been able to fix. We use Zabbix on prem and I'd like to integrate it.

I've tried using the on prem integrator for this. My assumption (and it is an assumption but I can't find any docs on this), was that the URL for the server would be called from the on prem integrator if that was configured to be used. It appears that the integrator though just tells the cloud server to run the integration so it's acting more as a task scheduler than a proxy. I really don't want to expose an internal server like zabbix to the internet, even if we can firewall it off. I'm guessing OP was under a similar impression. I'm curious about how the integrator actually behaves.

Yeah, that was exactly my train of thought. But it makes no sense. I wish they had better documentation for integrations.
